‘The Drop: A Snowfall Saga’ is heading into the back half of its first season, and the sixth episode is the next checkpoint for viewers following Wanda Bell and Leon Simmons through 1990s Los Angeles. The spinoff premiered on September 8 and follows the pair as they try to reinvent themselves in the West Coast hip hop scene. The sixth episode is titled “Exit Wounds” and arrives on October 13.

This guide covers the release date, the air time, the streaming options and what the available synopsis tells us about the episode. The series was created by Malcolm Spellman and picks up after the events of ‘Snowfall,’ the FX drama about the crack cocaine epidemic in Los Angeles.

‘The Drop’ Sixth Episode Release Date and Air Time

“Exit Wounds” is listed for Tuesday, October 13. The eight episode season follows a weekly schedule, with one new episode arriving each week after the premiere.

FX set the series slot at 9 p.m. ET and 6 p.m. PT. New episodes land on Tuesday evenings, which keeps the release rhythm consistent from week to week.

The fifth episode comes first, with an air date of October 6. That leaves a single week before “Exit Wounds,” and two more episodes remain after it in the eight episode run.

Where to Watch ‘The Drop’ on FX, Hulu and Disney+

Viewers in the United States can watch the series on FX and Hulu. Hulu’s listing for the show also includes an official trailer, a first look featurette and a preview of the season.

Outside the United States, the series streams on Disney+. International availability on that service began on September 9.

Hulu also carries companion material for fans who want more context between episodes. The after show episodes feature conversations with Malcolm Spellman, Jason Martin and Sway Calloway, as well as Buddy, Skipp Townsend and De’Aundre Bonds. The listing currently shows four episodes of the season as available.

‘The Drop’ Episode Preview and What “Exit Wounds” Sets Up

The synopsis for the sixth episode says Lamar is reeling from family revelations and falls out with both Wanda and Artillery. That tension builds while pressure mounts to deliver an album.

Leon and James, searching for their own answers, join forces. The episode was written by Michael Kastelein and directed by Rashidi Natara Harper. Other episode listings for the season credit the same writer and director for the sixth entry.

Listings are not fully aligned on the details, so the story description may shift. One season page describes the episode differently, saying Wanda forms an unlikely alliance and risks everything on a bold move that could change their future. Viewers should treat the finer points as provisional until the episode airs.

Where the Season Stands Before the Next Episode

The story is set in 1990 Los Angeles, roughly four years after the events of ‘Snowfall.’ Gang warfare is escalating in South Los Angeles while record labels move to profit from hip hop culture.

Who Plays Artillery in ‘The Drop’ and Is the Rapper Based on a Real Person

The fifth episode appears to set the stakes for what follows. In “Homecoming,” Gerty and Big Daddy call a meeting in hopes of ending Lamar’s music dreams and reveal a family secret that changes everything. Nicki Micheaux plays Gerty and Mykelti Williamson plays Big Daddy, and a sneak peek shows them revealing a painful chapter from the family’s past.

Wanda’s effort to assemble a group of talented collaborators has pulled in both Lamar and his cousin James, while she also pursues the volatile rapper Artillery, who is already entangled with law enforcement. With “Exit Wounds” putting Lamar at odds with both Wanda and Artillery, does the secret from “Homecoming” give him enough reason to walk away from the album, or will the pressure to deliver pull him back in?
