‘Transformers’ Star Megan Fox (40) Wants New Yorkers To Steal Her Posters in Ro’s Interactive Ad Campaign
Celebrity endorsements rarely ask the public to take the ads home. Megan Fox’s new Ro Sparks campaign does exactly that, turning a sensitive health topic into a street-level stunt that has New Yorkers stopping in their tracks.
Telehealth company Ro tapped Fox as the first celebrity partner for Ro Sparks, its prescription erectile dysfunction treatment. Called “Megan Fox Is Ro Sparks,” the campaign casts the actress as the product itself, with Fox in a head-to-toe red catsuit carrying the Sparks logo.
Since launching on TV, streaming and social media last Thursday, the campaign has moved onto city streets. Starting October 5, tear-away posters began appearing across New York City, inviting passersby to rip one off and take Megan Fox home with them.
The idea is simple: instead of ignoring another wall of ads, pedestrians are invited to grab a piece of it. Videos of people pulling posters off the walls have spread online, with fans calling it one of the coolest interactive campaigns they’ve seen. According to Marketing Daily, the wild postings went up in 20 locations, each with a tear-away pad of 18×26-inch posters. That adds up to 1,000 posters in total.
The New York rollout also includes a Times Square subway station takeover and ads in subway and Long Island Rail Road cars. In Los Angeles, Ro is running billboards. Ro is betting that Fox’s star power can push a stigmatized subject into everyday conversation. The company says its research found men are often more receptive to ED messaging when it comes from a woman.
“Megan Fox has the ability to take the topic of ED out of a commercial and into the zeitgeist, into the shows, into the feed, where people are already talking about sex,” Ro co-founder and chief product officer Saman Rahmanian told Variety. He added that the stigma lives in those spaces, so that is where it has to be challenged.
Fox doesn’t cite studies or share any personal experience in the ads. Instead, she speaks in the first person as the medication itself, mixing tongue-in-cheek humor with product details.

In the commercial, Fox explains that Ro Sparks is a prescription-only 2-in-1 treatment combining sildenafil and tadalafil, the active ingredients in Viagra and Cialis. It dissolves under the tongue, and according to Ro, it can start working in about 15 minutes and last up to 36 hours.
The treatment is a compounded medication, and reports note that it is not approved by the FDA. Ro has been selling Sparks for 2 years. The partnership is a major moment for the brand. Rahmanian told Marketing Daily it is Ro’s largest ED campaign ever and likely the largest in the entire category.
It’s also not a one-off. Fox has signed a long-term deal to act as a brand ambassador and could appear in Ro’s advertising for the next 1 to 2 years. Ro handled both the creative and the media buy in-house. That gave the company full control over a rollout that has moved from TV screens to subway stations to walls covered in tear-off posters.
Some observers have noted that the ads walk a line between playful and provocative. For Ro, though, getting attention is the point when the goal is to get more men talking about a health issue many avoid.
With the posters now spreading across social media, the campaign seems to be generating the buzz the company wanted. Whether it changes how people talk about ED is still an open question, but plenty of people are talking about it now.
