‘Eternally Yours’ Release Date, Time, Where to Watch, and Preview

‘Eternally Yours’ premieres on CBS today, Thursday, October 8, at 8:30 p.m. Eastern and 7:30 Central. The new comedy comes from the team behind ‘Ghosts’ and follows a vampire couple whose romance has gone stale after 500 years together. The series arrives with a built-in audience, and CBS has placed it in a familiar slot.

For viewers deciding whether to tune in, the basics are simple. The half hour series airs on CBS and streams on Paramount+. Below is a look at when it airs, how to watch it, and what the first episode sets up.

When the ‘Eternally Yours’ Release Date Arrives

The series premiere lands on Thursday, October 8, at 8:30 p.m. Eastern and Pacific. The creators of the show have not confirmed a UK arrival date, though one report suggested it would be available no later than the next morning. That leaves American viewers with the earliest access.

CBS first described the show in a June announcement as a family comedy centered on Charles and Liz. The project began as a pilot order from CBS Studios, and the pilot was initially ordered as a development room. That origin is worth noting because it shows how deliberately the network built this property.

The pilot was also screened at San Diego Comic Con on July 24 before its broadcast debut. That early screening gave fans a first look well ahead of the October premiere.

The ‘Eternally Yours’ Time Slot on Thursday Nights

‘Eternally Yours’ takes the 8:30 p.m. Eastern slot on Thursdays, the spot that previously belonged to ‘Ghosts’. ‘Ghosts’ will not return with its sixth season until early next year, aside from a pair of holiday specials. The scheduling choice makes the connection between the two shows hard to miss.

The pilot episode runs from 8:30 to 9:02 p.m. Eastern and Pacific on the CBS Television Network. Regular episodes are listed in the 8:30 to 9:00 p.m. window on Thursdays. Viewers should plan for a short, half hour comedy block each week.

‘Ghosts’ returns for its sixth season on October 29 with a Halloween special. That means the two supernatural comedies will share the CBS calendar before the longer break.

Where to Watch ‘Eternally Yours’ Live and Streaming

The series airs on CBS and streams on Paramount+. Paramount+ Premium plan subscribers can watch live and on demand, while Essential plan subscribers get the episode on demand the day after it airs. The tier you choose will decide whether you see the premiere in real time.

The show can be watched on any device that supports the Paramount+ app, including phones and tablets. Anyone with a standard antenna or cable package can also catch it on CBS itself at the listed time.

Paramount+ has also promoted the series premiere as streaming on October 8. Viewers outside the United States should check local listings, since only the American airing has been confirmed.

A Preview of the ‘Eternally Yours’ Premiere and Cast

The pilot, titled “Pilot,” follows Max as his world turns upside down after he discovers the truth about Emma’s mysterious family. Charles and Liz are vampires living in present day Seattle, and their routines and coven have become dull until their daughter’s human boyfriend arrives. The setup puts a relationship comedy at the center of a supernatural world.

Ed Weeks plays Charles and Allegra Edwards plays Liz. The cast also includes Jaren Lewison as Max, Helen J Shen as Emma, Parker Young as Jesse, Rose Abdoo as Phyllis, Tristan Michael Brown as Mort, and Shylo Molina as Henry. Jeff Hiller is also set to guest star as a troublemaker with a history with Liz.

The A.V. Club describes the series as a vampire take on ‘Ghosts’ and says it shows promise, though the outlet questions why Max learns the family secret so early. The same review notes that the Blythes can walk in daylight, which the show helps explain by setting itself in overcast Seattle. That early reveal may be the choice that defines how the first season plays out.

Trent O’Donnell, who directed the ‘Ghosts’ pilot, directed the pilot of this series. Port and Wiseman executive produce alongside Eric Tannenbaum, Kim Tannenbaum, and Jason Wang. If you are watching the premiere tonight, tell us in the comments whether you think Charles and Liz can keep their coven’s secrets from Max, and whether a 500 year marriage makes for a convincing comedy.
