Joe Manganiello’s Memoir Reveals a Friend Offered To Abduct Sofía Vergara’s Ex Nick Loeb
Joe Manganiello’s new memoir, ‘Bloodlines’, has been generating headlines all week, with the ‘True Blood’ and ‘Magic Mike’ star opening up about his marriage to Sofía Vergara and the long health battle that shaped it. The couple married in 2015 and split in 2023, and Manganiello writes that his 7-year fight with a mysterious autoimmune disease left the relationship drained of emotion.
The book has already sparked a public response from Vergara’s side. She reshared a post from her son Manolo comparing a “good man” with a narcissistic one, which many interpreted as a pointed reaction to her ex-husband’s revelations.
Now another startling story from ‘Bloodlines’ is making the rounds. Manganiello writes that a close friend with high-level connections in the private security world once offered to have Vergara’s ex, Nick Loeb, abducted and seriously harmed.
According to his account, the friend described a plan to grab Loeb off the street, take him to a remote wooded area, warn him, and then beat him severely. Manganiello presents it as a no-questions-asked offer made out of loyalty during a tense period.

The actor writes that his resentment toward Loeb grew out of the businessman’s legal battle with Vergara. Vergara dated Loeb from 2010 to 2014, and in 2016 he sued her in Louisiana over the frozen embryos they had created during their relationship.
That case was later dismissed for lack of personal jurisdiction, according to court records obtained by E!. Manganiello also claims Loeb sent protesters to confront Vergara at the premiere of ‘Magic Mike XXL’, describing what he saw as repeated attacks on the actress.
Manganiello admits that the protective side of him didn’t immediately dismiss the idea. Ultimately, though, he turned it down, explaining that he feared karmic consequences and the possibility of ending up in prison.

Instead, he says he told Vergara that if they ever ran into Loeb in public, they would simply get up and leave. He writes that he wasn’t confident he could hold himself back from a physical confrontation if they crossed paths.
This isn’t the first claim in ‘Bloodlines’ involving Loeb. Manganiello also recounts a shaman telling him that someone from Vergara’s past had placed a curse on him, and he admits his thoughts turned to Loeb, partly because Loeb once lived in New Orleans while attending Tulane University.
Joe Manganiello claims in his memoir that a shaman told him Sofia Vergara’s ex caused his illness with voodoo. “The thought crossed my mind maybe it was Sofía who was cursed, cursed by some man in her past who couldn’t have her, so he put some sort of hex on her so that for the rest of her life, she’d transmit it to any man who got together with her.”

It’s important to stress that these remain Manganiello’s own claims and recollections. The memoir presents his personal perspective on events, and the allegations about Loeb are his account alone.
Beyond the Loeb anecdotes, ‘Bloodlines’ covers the toll his illness took on his personal life. Manganiello writes candidly about feeling unsupported at times during the marriage, while also crediting Vergara with a life-saving medical decision during his health crisis.
That mix of gratitude and grievance has made the book one of the most talked-about celebrity memoirs of the season. Every new excerpt seems to reignite conversation about the former couple’s relationship.
Reactions online have been mixed. Some readers appreciate Manganiello’s honesty about his anger and the restraint he ultimately showed, while others question whether such a story needed to be made public at all.
With the memoir now out, more revelations are likely to surface as readers work through its pages. For now, this particular story has added yet another layer of intrigue to an already dramatic chapter in his life.
Do you think Joe Manganiello was right to reveal the alleged abduction offer involving Sofía Vergara’s ex, Nick Loeb, in his memoir?
