The ‘Yellowjackets’ Final Season Trailer Brings the Survivors Home, and It Looks Anything but Happy
Few shows have kept audiences as hooked, and as unsettled, as ‘Yellowjackets’. Created by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson, the Emmy-nominated series first premiered on November 14, 2021, following a high school girls’ soccer team stranded in the remote northern wilderness after a devastating plane crash.
Told across 2 timelines, the show tracks the team’s descent from a complicated but thriving group into savage clans, while also following the women they became nearly 25 years later. Now the story is heading toward its conclusion, with the fourth season serving as the end of the road.
Paramount+ has released the first official trailer for the final season of ‘Yellowjackets’, and the survivors have finally made it out of the wilderness. The footage opens with the girls recounting their experiences on camera with vacant stares, as one voice gently tells them they can just start at the beginning.
Their parents chalk up the strange behavior to the shock of being found. But the trailer makes it clear that whatever happened out there is still haunting them, contrasting the false story they tell the world with brutal footage from earlier seasons. In one moment, a man proudly tells Teen Shauna that the girls are American heroes. That celebratory tone quickly gives way to something far more sinister.
The trailer builds to gunshots, explosions, and screaming as it promises “The Final Reckoning” for the series. Returning home, it seems, may be just as dangerous as the wilderness itself.

This latest footage follows an earlier teaser released in August, which announced the final season’s premiere date. That preview opened on a wall of TV screens broadcasting news reports, with a reporter announcing that the Yellowjackets had been found.
The clip spiraled into a media frenzy before ending on a chilling voice asking whether anyone could hear them. Together, the 2 previews suggest the rescue is only the beginning of the girls’ troubles.
The creative team has been thoughtful about the decision to wrap the series after 4 seasons. Lyle explained to Entertainment Weekly that stretching the story to 5 seasons would have meant dragging things out, while 4 seasons required speeding things up.
That approach suggests fans can expect a fast-paced and eventful final chapter. With one season left to connect the girls who escaped to the women they became, there’s plenty of ground to cover.

Melanie Lynskey, Christina Ricci, Tawny Cypress, Sophie Nélisse, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Sophie Thatcher, Samantha Hanratty, Courtney Eaton and Liv Hewson are all back. Warren Kole, Kevin Alves, Sarah Desjardins, Nia Sondaya, Jenna Burgess and Hilary Swank also return.
The final season adds an impressive lineup of guest stars, including June Squibb, Elijah Wood, Molly Ringwald, Devon Sawa, Sam Braun and Dulé Hill. Those additions only raise anticipation for how the story will wrap up.
‘Yellowjackets’ Season 4 premieres Friday, November 20, exclusively on Paramount+ with the Premium Plan. All previous seasons are available to stream now for anyone who needs a refresher before the final chapter.
With the survivors finally home but far from safe, the series looks set to end with the same mix of horror and heartbreak that made it a phenomenon. Fans have just over a month to prepare for the final reckoning.
How do you think Yellowjackets will end?
