Few video games have been as heavily anticipated as ‘Grand Theft Auto VI’. Since Rockstar Games first revealed the game in December 2023, fans have studied every frame, screenshot, and announcement for clues about the return to Vice City.

The road to launch has also been long. The game was originally planned for fall 2025, then moved to May 2026, and in November 2025, Take-Two Interactive confirmed a second delay to November 19, 2026. Rockstar apologized for adding more time to an already long wait and said the extra months would ensure the level of polish fans expect.

Now, with release day just over a month away, Rockstar has delivered what many fans have been waiting for. On October 15, the studio released the official launch trailer for ‘GTA 6’, confirming once again that the game arrives on November 19.

The trailer runs about 90 seconds and puts protagonists Jason and Lucia front and center. It features new music from the electronic duo Justice, who are reportedly composing the game’s original score.

The trailer begins with Jason looking back on his troubled time in the army, where he got into trouble and didn’t leave on good terms. A phone call from Lucia then sets up the partnership at the center of the game.

From there, the action picks up quickly with bank heists, concerts, boat duels, helicopter chases, explosions, and several gunfights. It ends with Jason saying that he and Lucia have faced everything together and now have to face whatever comes next.

‘GTA 6’ takes players to Leonida, a fictional state based on Florida, with Vice City as its main hub. Surrounding areas include the Grassrivers wetlands, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga National Park.

The trailer’s mix of sunny highways, waterfront chases, and city nightlife reflects that setting. Rockstar’s original announcement described Leonida as home to the neon-soaked streets of Vice City and beyond.

Rockstar’s trailers have consistently drawn huge audiences. The first trailer was released about 12 hours early in December 2023 after a low-resolution version leaked online, and it went on to pass 254 million YouTube views.

The second trailer arrived in May 2025 and topped 75 million YouTube views in a single day. It gave fans a much closer look at Vice City and its 2 leads, setting a high bar for this final pre-launch reveal.

‘GTA 6′ launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. A PC release date hasn’t been announced, which follows the series’ history of console-first launches. Pricing has also been revealed in some regions. In India, for example, the Standard Edition costs Rs 5,999, and the Ultimate Edition costs Rs 7,499. Fans can watch the launch trailer on Rockstar’s website and official YouTube channel.

The launch trailer is a sign that the long wait is nearly over. After 2 delays and nearly 3 years since the first reveal, Rockstar seems confident that ‘GTA 6’ is ready for players. Much of the next month will likely be spent picking apart this new footage, from Jason’s backstory to the hints about what he and Lucia will face. Fans will get the full story on November 19.

Expectations are extremely high for one of the most-watched game reveals in history. Rockstar’s focus on polish suggests it knows how much is riding on this release. If the launch trailer is anything to go by, Jason and Lucia’s story through Leonida looks set to be one of the biggest gaming moments of the year.
