‘WandaVision’ Account Drops Cryptic Coded Posts Asking the Question at the Heart of ‘VisionQuest ‘
Marvel’s ‘VisionQuest’ is only days into its run on Disney+, and the marketing team clearly isn’t done playing games with fans. The final chapter of the trilogy that began with ‘WandaVision’ and continued with ‘Agatha All Along’ premiered on October 14, with Paul Bettany back as White Vision across 8 episodes from creator and showrunner Terry Matalas.
The series picks up a philosophical thread fans have been chewing on for years. In the ‘WandaVision’ finale, the Vision created by Wanda’s magic and White Vision, built from the remains of the Vision who died in ‘Infinity War’, paused their fight to debate the Ship of Theseus. If every part of a ship is replaced, is it still the same ship? And if the discarded planks are rebuilt, which ship is the real one?
Now that question is back in a very literal way. The official ‘WandaVision’ account on X has shared new posts with a hidden code tucked inside them, as Nexus Point News flagged, alongside the pointed question, “Is it still the same ship?”
The posts lean heavily into the show’s identity crisis. One image carries the line “You see an Avenger because I am Vision,” set against a dark backdrop, while another shows the classic red Vision bathed in crimson light.

Running along the bottom of the images is a glitchy, flickering strip of digital characters, the code fans are now trying to crack. Marvel hasn’t explained what it means, so for now it remains an unsolved puzzle for the community to pick apart.
It’s a fitting tease for a character who is quite literally made of data. Whether the code points to a future episode, a hidden message, or simply an Easter egg, the posts are doing exactly what they were designed to do: get people talking about who Vision really is.

In the ‘WandaVision’ finale, the debate ended with Wanda’s Vision restoring White Vision’s memories. White Vision then declared “I am Vision” and flew away from Westview. White Vision’s answer to the riddle was that both ships are the true ship. That answer gets messy when memories themselves are the replaced parts. ‘VisionQuest’ appears set to dig into that exact paradox.
Matalas has said the Ship of Theseus scene, along with Vision and Ultron’s final conversation in ‘Age of Ultron’, shaped the foundation of the series. One of the most talked-about lines from the trailer captures the dilemma, with Vision admitting, “I have his memories, but not his virtue.”
That struggle hits even harder because of who’s back in the picture. James Spader returns as Ultron, the villain who created Vision as an ultimate weapon in ‘Age of Ultron’, and whose influence still lingers in White Vision’s mind.

The trailer suggests Vision may have to make a dangerous deal with his creator, with Ultron offering a chilling bargain: “Free me and save your son.” That son is Tommy Maximoff, now played by Ruaridh Mollica, who has his own complicated relationship with memory and identity after his soul ended up in a new body.
Taken together, the cryptic posts feel less like random teasers and more like a thesis statement. ‘VisionQuest’ isn’t just asking whether this Vision is the real one; it’s asking whether being the real one even matters if he can’t live up to the original’s heroism.
Marvel has a long history of rewarding fans who look closely, and posts like these tend to spark intense online detective work. As new episodes roll out each week, viewers will be watching for any on-screen moment that connects to the hidden code. Until someone cracks it, or Marvel reveals the answer itself, the question the ‘WandaVision’ account posed will keep hanging over the series.
Do you think White Vision is still the same Vision after regaining his memories in WandaVision?
