Meet the Cast of Prime Video’s ‘Love in Disguise’ (With Photos)

The Korean series ‘Love in Disguise’ premieres exclusively on Prime Video on October 19 in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide. The ‘Love in Disguise’ cast pairs a well-known name from international television with several familiar faces from Korean dramas, and each actor brings a distinct side of the story to the screen.

The series is based on the web novel ‘Why Don’t You Know It’s a Girl?’ and follows Kang Jae-hee, a former special forces officer turned police detective. She disguises herself as a man to stay close to Yoon Yi-jun, the heir of a powerful conglomerate who is a suspect in a murder case. Yim Si-wan

Yim Si-wan plays Yoon Yi-jun, a perfectionist third generation heir to the Taegang Group who becomes the prime suspect in a murder case. Soompi describes the character as an executive director at Taegang Group, and the posters present him with a sophisticated and sensual aura.

Yim is probably best known to US audiences as the villainous Myung-gi in the second and third seasons of ‘Squid Game’. His other credits include the films ‘Mantis’ and ‘The Attorney’. That background gives his casting as a suspect with an uncertain past added weight.

Kim Jung-hyun

Kim Jung-hyun plays Kim Si-hyun, a lawyer on the legal team of Taegang Group and the close friend of Yoon Yi-jun. Soompi reported that, at the script reading, he portrayed his character’s serious personality with his gaze, while also hinting at a mysterious side.

Kim started in musical theater before moving to film and television. His credits include ‘Welcome to Waikiki’, ‘Mr. Queen’ and ‘Crash Landing on You’. That stage experience may suit a character who is described as using a sly gaze to influence the people around him.

Kim also framed how the supporting romance differs from the main one. He called Si-hyun and Hye-jung a mature couple with a more realistic relationship, in contrast to the bickering and youthful energy of the two leads.

Yeon Woo

Yeonwoo plays Lee Hye-jung, the secretary to the Taegang Group chairman, who is known for her striking beauty, strong abilities and cautious personality. She holds a firm philosophy that a good secretary is the boss’s shadow, and she keeps an appropriate distance from her superior.

That polished image applies only at the office. After work, Hye-jung switches off secretary mode and enjoys a daily routine that is the opposite of her disciplined persona, and she has pushed dating and marriage down her list of priorities.
