‘Euphoria’ Star Alexa Demie Stuns in a Feathered Chanel Gown at the Academy Museum Gala
Alexa Demie has always done things on her own terms, and that includes how often she steps into the spotlight. The actress, best known as Maddy Perez in ‘Euphoria’, has built a reputation as one of Hollywood’s most elusive “It” girls, which makes every red carpet appearance feel like an event.
This year marked the end of an era for her. ‘Euphoria’ returned for its third and final season on April 12 after a lengthy hiatus, picking up 5 years after the events of season 2, and the series finale aired at the end of May.
With the show wrapped, speculation swirled online that Demie might be stepping away from acting altogether. She shut those rumors down in a candid interview, explaining that she simply prefers a quieter life and chooses only the opportunities that genuinely interest her.
“Did you ever think that I don’t want it?” she told The Hollywood Reporter, pushing back on the idea that she should be chasing the same path as her castmates. ‘Euphoria’ creator Sam Levinson backed her up, saying she’s doing exactly what she wants.
Since the finale, Demie has been spending plenty of time with Chanel. In July, she sat front row at the house’s Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2026/27 presentation in Paris wearing a black halter-neck dress that paid tribute to the little black dress.

She returned to Paris earlier this month for the Chanel Spring/Summer 2027 show, posing for photographers in a glossy red quilted two-piece outfit. That growing relationship set the stage for her next big moment.
On October 17, Demie arrived at the sixth annual Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles in a custom Chanel gown. Several outlets shared a clip of her arrival, praising her as one of the stars who stunned on the carpet.
The pale, aqua-tinged blue gown featured soft feather trim along the shoulders and at the waist, which framed a daring cutout before the skirt fell into a high front slit. The feathers softened what could have otherwise been a sleek, sculpted silhouette.

Demie kept the rest of her styling simple, wearing her long dark hair sleek and straight with statement earrings and delicate strappy sandals. Fans online quickly nicknamed the look an aquamarine dream, with some calling her a literal angel.
Her ethereal look fit right into the night’s fashion conversation. W Magazine noted that the gala’s October timing, just after Fashion Month, makes it a showcase for pieces fresh off the runways, with Matthieu Blazy’s Chanel among the most anticipated.
Demie wasn’t the only Chanel star of the evening. Hailey Bieber wore a custom candy pink Chanel sheath, while Cole Escola chose a dramatically draped black cape dress from the house.
The gala raises funds for the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures and honored Charlize Theron, Colman Domingo and John Carpenter this year. Fittingly, Domingo is also a ‘Euphoria’ alum, appearing in the series’ final season.

Demie joined a guest list that included Taylor Swift, Kate Hudson, Jamie Lee Curtis, Kerry Washington and fellow ‘Euphoria’ star Hunter Schafer. Swift was set to perform, adding to the night’s star power.
While Demie hasn’t announced her next acting project, her recent appearances suggest she’s enjoying this new chapter. Whether she returns to the screen or continues exploring fashion and music, she’s clearly making every move count. For fans who miss Maddy, her feathered Chanel moment was a welcome reminder of the star power that made the character so iconic.
