‘Nobody Wants This’ Season 3 Review: What Happens After the Happily Ever After Starts

‘Nobody Wants This’ Season 3 arrives on Netflix today with all ten episodes at once, and it opens on a question the earlier seasons kept dodging. What do Joanne and Noah look like when they are simply together? Kristen Bell and Adam Brody return as the podcaster and the rabbi, now moving into a home and settling into a relationship that finally feels solid.

Season 2 ended with Sasha and Esther’s marriage coming undone, and this new batch follows both of them into single life while Sasha and Morgan keep circling a connection neither will name. Erin Foster created the series, and Jenni Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan share showrunner duties. Sarah Silverman joins as the rabbi guiding Joanne toward conversion, which gives the season its spine.

Here is where I landed. This is the most comfortable and confident the show has ever been, because it finally trusts Joanne and Noah to be happy without inventing a fresh obstacle every week. The back and forth that stretched out the previous season is gone, and the series is livelier for it.

The warmth between Bell and Brody still carries everything. Small domestic moments, like learning to share a house, land harder than any grand declaration because the two play them with such ease. Joanne’s conversion is handled with curiosity and plenty of jokes, and it gives her something to chase beyond reacting to Noah’s world.

The flaw is speed. Major milestones, wedding planning included, arrive so quickly that the story hardly lets any of them breathe, and a couple of episodes feel like they could have been trimmed. I wanted to linger in the quiet stretches rather than sprint toward the next big life event.

The ensemble is the real surprise. Esther gets room to become far more than Sasha’s separated wife, and her storyline is among the best things here, while Justine Lupe’s Morgan steps forward on the podcast now that Joanne has no dating disasters left to report. Both sets of parents still supply reliable laughs, with Stephanie Faracy’s Lynn and Tovah Feldshuh’s Bina stealing every scene they walk into.

Morgan and Sasha are the more divisive thread. Their chemistry is undeniable, and a work weekend in New York leads to an aftermath that stings with real honesty, but the push and pull stretches longer than it should. I would happily have traded one more round of hesitation for another scene of the two of them actually talking.

Will Netflix Bring Back ‘Nobody Wants This’ for a Fourth Season?

Overall, ‘Nobody Wants This’ Season 3 left me smiling far more often than it frustrated me. It is a warm, funny, well acted season that repairs the stalling of the last one, even if it hurries through its biggest moments. I give it 8 out of 10.

Do you agree with my verdict on ‘Nobody Wants This’ Season 3, and are you rooting harder for Joanne and Noah or for Morgan and Sasha, so let me know in the comments.
