‘South Park’ Just Debuted Real Gameplay From Rockstar’s Next ‘Grand Theft Auto’, and It’s Gloriously Gross
Few video games have generated hype like ‘GTA 6’, and ‘South Park’ has spent its new season poking fun at it. Season 29 premiered in September with the show rebranded as ‘South America’, and Trey Parker and Matt Stone quickly turned the game’s November launch into a running gag.
In the premiere, “South American Biker Gangs”, characters kept insisting things would get better in November, then clarified that they meant Rockstar’s new release. The joke came back in “Billionaire Weenietown”, where a power outage only became a real crisis once it threatened people’s ability to play the game and save their progress. A later episode even included a sign advertising the game.
This week, the show went a step further. The latest episode, “Guinea Pig on a Stick”, which aired October 28, included a short clip of what appears to be real, previously unseen ‘GTA 6’ gameplay.
The end credits confirm it’s genuine, with a note that the ‘Grand Theft Auto VI’ footage was provided courtesy of Rockstar Games. That makes this the first time the show has used Rockstar’s own footage instead of just joking about the game.
According to Deadline, the scene comes during a trip to a local cattle ranch, where the kids get a sneak peek at the game. An industry insider shows it off, praising the graphics and world-building while Cartman and the boys react with wide-eyed excitement.

What the clip actually shows is pure ‘South Park’ chaos. Jason walks along a crowded Vice City beach, where a dog relieves itself in the sand. In the game, players can bag the waste or use it as a weapon.
That’s exactly what happens next. Jason throws it at an NPC, and when the beachgoer reacts angrily, he goes after him again. The episode frames this as the “big change” coming in November, a sly dig at how much attention the launch is getting.

Beneath the gross-out humor, the footage gives fans a decent look at the game’s world. The beach is packed with NPCs of all shapes and sizes, some of whom respond with dialogue to Jason’s actions, and the sand shows dynamic footprints as characters walk across it.
When South America’s beef becomes highly prized and sought after, the four boys fight to keep it in local hands. An all-new episode of South America premieres on Comedy Central Wednesday at 10|9c and streams next day on Paramount+ https://t.co/MfnWtsh6jt

The timing has fans wondering about the relationship between the show and the studio. Notebookcheck noted that it’s unclear whether Rockstar has a formal marketing partnership with ‘South Park’, even though the footage was supplied directly.
Either way, the appearance fits Rockstar’s recent strategy of sharing glimpses of the game in unusual ways. The studio has previously revealed gameplay through YouTube videos and an Extended Look on Netflix.
The episode doesn’t only target gaming. It also satirizes the upcoming midterm elections on November 3, placing the game’s launch alongside politics as one of the month’s big events. For fans, the wait is nearly done. ‘GTA 6’ arrives on November 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, more than a decade after the last main entry in the series.
The road to launch hasn’t been smooth. The game was originally scheduled for May 2025 before being delayed twice. When delay rumors spread again this spring, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick reaffirmed the November date during the company’s earnings call.

With ‘South Park’ running through late November, the gag probably isn’t over yet. If this week is any sign, the show could keep needling the game’s hype right up to, and possibly past, launch day.
