‘VisionQuest’ Draws Huge Watch Time in Its First Week as Marvel’s Vision Trilogy Nears Its End
Marvel’s ‘VisionQuest’ arrived on Disney+ in mid-October with a lot riding on it. As the final chapter of the trilogy that began with ‘WandaVision’ and continued with ‘Agatha All Along’, the series had to live up to two of the studio’s most beloved streaming shows.
Early signs pointed to a strong start. The 8-episode series debuted at No. 1 on Disney+ in the U.S. and topped charts in countries including Japan, Mexico, Brazil, Australia and Canada, while trending in more than 70 nations.
Now the series has its first major viewership number. According to Luminate data shared by Marvel Updates, ‘VisionQuest’ racked up more than 639 million minutes of watch time in its first week of streaming.
That’s a strong debut for a Marvel series. For comparison, other outlets reported that ‘Wonder Man’ charted for a single week with 618 million minutes before dropping off. Different measurement services can produce different figures, so the comparison isn’t perfect. Still, the early number suggests that the final chapter of Vision’s story has pulled in a sizable audience.
The show’s predecessor set a high bar. According to MickeyBlog, ‘Agatha All Along’ peaked at 744 million viewing minutes on Nielsen’s charts and averaged about 450 million minutes a week.

Nielsen data for ‘VisionQuest’ hasn’t been released yet, as those figures arrive several weeks after a show’s debut. When they do, they’ll give a clearer picture of how the new series compares with ‘Agatha All Along’.
The release format could help its numbers. Disney+ released ‘VisionQuest’ in double-episode drops for its first 3 weeks, putting 6 episodes on the platform within about 2 weeks.

The series has also impressed reviewers. Outlets reported a 90% critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes from 79 reviews, while audience scores have landed in the mid-to-high 80s. Many reviewers have measured it against ‘WandaVision’, a tough comparison for any show. Even so, the response has been largely positive, with the series’ character-driven take on Vision earning praise.
Paul Bettany returns as a rebuilt Vision who has his memories back but can’t attach any feelings to them. He’s living quietly in Scotland, working at a pub, until a bounty on his head sends him on the run with a teen played by Ruaridh Mollica.

Terry Matalas serves as showrunner and director. James Spader plays Ultron, Todd Stashwick plays Paladin, and T’Nia Miller plays Jocasta, while several familiar AI voices from the MCU, including J.A.R.V.I.S. and F.R.I.D.A.Y., also appear.
The last 2 episodes are the longest of the season. Dark Horizons reported that episode 7 runs 62 minutes and the finale runs 68 minutes, making them the longest MCU TV episodes to date.

With a strong first week of watch time and a solid critical reception, ‘VisionQuest’ is shaping up to be a successful end to the trilogy. Its final viewership numbers will show whether it can match the success of the shows that came before it.
