‘Percy Jackson and the Olympians’ is days away from bringing one of Rick Riordan’s most beloved goddesses into the story. The Disney+ series adapts ‘The Titan’s Curse’ in its new season, which marks the first time the third book in Riordan’s series has reached the screen, and it introduces the Hunters of Artemis.

Fans first saw the goddess and her lieutenant in images unveiled at D23 in August, alongside a teaser for the new season. With the premiere approaching, Disney is now offering a closer look at the immortal huntresses.

A new image shared by Cosmic Marvel shows Dafne Keen as Artemis and Saara Chaudry as Zoë Nightshade in Season 3. In the still, Keen leads the group along a frost-covered path, wearing a pale hooded cloak over a silver-gray outfit.

Chaudry stands beside her in fur-trimmed armor with a quiver of arrows on her back, and another Hunter flanks the goddess on the other side. The cool, wintry palette matches the darker tone the new season has been teasing.

According to the character’s official description, Artemis prefers the outdoors to the politics and formality of Olympus. She stays regal and honorable, but her limited contact with mortals leaves her somewhat out of touch with modern culture.

Keen is no stranger to big franchises. She played Laura, also known as X-23, in ‘Logan’ and returned to the role in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’, and she also starred in the Disney+ ‘Star Wars’ series ‘The Acolyte’. Zoë is Artemis’ loyal lieutenant and the first among her immortal Hunters. She has served at the goddess’ side for more than 2,000 years.

The character is described as a strong warrior who can come across as overly serious, which amuses the demigods around her. She is also expected to be a crucial part of the quest, willing to make sacrifices for the group.

Chaudry has appeared in other Disney+ titles, including ‘The Muppets Mayhem’ and ‘The Mysterious Benedict Society’. Keen and Chaudry were first announced for their roles in August of last year.

According to Disney’s synopsis, Kronos’ forces capture Annabeth, sending Percy on a dangerous journey to rescue her. Along the way, he has to free a goddess in chains, confront the Titan’s curse, and keep Olympus from falling.

Grover joins him, along with some unlikely questmates, to face a prophecy with dire consequences. Several outlets report that Percy, Grover, and the Camp Half-Blood campers race to rescue both Annabeth and Artemis from the Titan Atlas, played by Holt McCallany.

Walker Scobell returns as Percy, alongside Leah Sava Jeffries as Annabeth, Aryan Simhadri as Grover, and Tamara Smart as Thalia Grace. Newcomers include Levi Chrisopulos and Olive Abercrombie as Nico and Bianca di Angelo, Hubert Smielecki as Apollo, Ming-Na Wen as Hera, and Kate McKinnon as Aphrodite.

The new season premieres on November 20 with 2 episodes on Disney+, and the season also streams on Hulu. New episodes arrive weekly after that. The new image comes right after Disney released the official trailer for the season. That footage teases a race to save Annabeth as threats close in from all sides, and it gives a glimpse of the throne room on Olympus.

The series was created by Riordan and Jonathan E. Steinberg, who both serve as executive producers. Filming took place in Vancouver, and the season received an early renewal before Season 2 premiered.
