Aaron Pierre Reveals the Status of His Role in the MCU’s ‘Blade’ Reboot

Marvel has a lineup of projects set to be released in the coming years, but many have been affected by the historic SAG-AFTRA strike, causing delays and cancellations.
One highly anticipated project from Marvel Studios, ‘Blade,’ faced issues even before the strikes. It’s an MCU-based movie following Eric Brooks, a prominent vampire hunter in comics, and a reboot of the popular ‘Blade’ trilogy that helped shape the MCU.
Little is known about the ‘Blade’ movie, except that Mahershala Ali proposed the project and will portray the titular vampire hunter. Originally slated for release in 2023, the movie’s release was pushed to 2025 due to concerns about the script.
Various names were linked to the film, including Aaron Pierre, though his involvement ended according to reports from Variety.
Early on, there were conversations. As the project evolved, I’m no longer part of that — attached.
This is just one of many changes happening in the movie. A few months ago, rumors circulated that Mahershala Ali had dropped out of the project due to delays, but he later confirmed that he was committed to the project. Michael Green was brought in for rewrites, aiming to maintain the “R” rating. Recent rumors suggest ‘Blade’ is no longer a period piece, and there are talks of relocating the filming to London.
