Adria Arjona has spent much of the past few months on the promotional trail, and her ‘Onslaught’ press appearances have kept the actress in the spotlight. A24’s action-horror movie casts her as a former Army sniper defending her young daughter from genetically engineered super soldiers. It is one of her most physical roles, and she is also credited as an executive producer.

The film comes from director Adam Wingard and writer Simon Barrett, the duo behind a string of horror hits. It also features Dan Stevens, Rebecca Hall, Drew Starkey, Michael Biehn, Alex Pereira, Eric Wareheim and Reginald VelJohnson. Deadline described the first trailer in June as a horror-infused actioner, and the premise sees a trailer park besieged by experimental soldiers.

Now Arjona’s press wardrobe is getting fresh attention online. Cinethology shared two new photos of the actress on X on September 20, saying she stuns for ‘Onslaught’ press. The images show her in an all-black look with a tailored blazer and trousers against a cream-colored backdrop, and the post has drawn 16K views, 1K likes, and 39 reposts.

The fashion moment arrives at a tougher time for the movie itself. ‘Onslaught’ opened on September 4 in 1,918 theaters and collected about $1.9 million over the 3-day weekend, or $2.33 million across the 4-day Labor Day frame. That is a challenging start for a film with a reported $15 million budget.

Audience reaction has been mixed. The film earned a C CinemaScore and a 56% score on Rotten Tomatoes. The Hollywood Reporter’s review called it intriguingly colorful but ultimately underwhelming, while praising Arjona’s performance.

The second weekend was harder still. According to Box Office Mojo data cited by Screen Rant, the film took in $267,731 and fell 86%, the steepest second-weekend drop for any A24 title on the site’s chart. It also fell from No. 13 to No. 19, and it lost 35% of its screens, dropping from 1,918 to 1,252 locations.

There are a few bright spots in the numbers. The film posted the eighth-largest domestic opening for an R-rated action movie this year and the sixth-biggest A24 opening of 2026. That places it ahead of titles such as ‘How to Make a Killing’ and ‘The Death of Robin Hood’ on the studio’s opening-weekend list.

The contrast with Wingard’s recent work is striking, though. His ‘Godzilla vs. Kong’ opened to $31.6 million and ‘Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire’ to $80 million. He also stepped away from directing ‘Godzilla x Kong: Supernova’ because of his scheduling commitments to ‘Onslaught’, making this a very different kind of gamble.

The cost is modest by studio standards, so A24 has some room to recover through streaming and home entertainment. Still, the film’s soft theatrical numbers make the press push more important. That may explain why Arjona is keeping the promotion going.

Arjona’s career has plenty of momentum outside this one release. Her recent credits include ‘Hit Man’ and ‘Blink Twice’, and her upcoming projects include ‘The Thomas Crown Affair’ and ‘Man of Tomorrow’, both listed for 2027. Those roles should keep her firmly in front of audiences.

For now, her ‘Onslaught’ appearances show a performer committed to the film she helped produce. Whether audiences discover it on demand is anyone’s guess. Either way, the stylish looks have kept the movie in the conversation.
