‘Agatha All Along’ To Be a Musical Confirmed by Patti Lupone
Agatha made her debut in the Disney+ series ‘WandaVision’ as the curious neighbor turned formidable witch attempting to steal Wanda’s powers. By the series’ conclusion, Agatha is vanquished and trapped in her mundane neighbor guise, stripped of her powers, a transition likely to be depicted in the show’s premiere episode. The characters’ bond is rooted in the comics, where Agatha ranks among the most potent sorcerers in the Marvel Comics Universe.
Adding to a string of revelations, we now have another update. While fans had already speculated that the show would be a musical based on hints and theories, it has finally been officially confirmed.
Joe Locke, Patti LuPone, and Kathryn Hahn, speaking to Deadline, offered a glimpse into the upcoming show, teasing its comedic brilliance and giving fans a taste of what’s to come.
Hahn: We can say that the coven is strong. We can say that it is hilarious and deep, and I was moved and honored to work with all these people every day, really it was a fortuitous dream that it happened to be this group to go through that together.
Patti LuPone: And it’s a musical!
‘Agatha’ isn’t the sole superhero-inspired musical slated for release this year; there’s also ‘Joker: Folie à Deux.’ However, the announcement of this music-focused film sparked a significant backlash from fans.
“Agatha All Along” is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ on September 18, 2024, with its first two episodes, followed by weekly releases of the remaining seven episodes until November 6. The series is situated within Phase Five of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
