Anakin Skywalker Is Far From Finished: Hayden Christensen Reportedly Set for Two More ‘Star Wars’ Projects

Few Hollywood redemption arcs have resonated quite as deeply with fans as Hayden Christensen reclaiming his place in the ‘Star Wars‘ universe. After a decade-long absence following the prequel trilogy, the actor returned to a franchise that had, in many ways, grown to appreciate what he had brought to Anakin Skywalker all along.

Christensen famously played the future Darth Vader in ‘Star Wars: Attack of the Clones’ and ‘Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith,’ before making his long-awaited return to the universe in ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi,’ and then again in the first season of ‘Ahsoka,’ appearing in digitally de-aged form across two episodes. Both performances sparked renewed admiration from fans who had spent years hoping to see him back in the role. His return was made official at Star Wars Celebration, where a panel featuring Christensen alongside Rosario Dawson, Dave Filoni, and Jon Favreau confirmed he would reprise the role in ‘Ahsoka’ Season 2.

Now, according to a fresh round of insider reports, Christensen’s run in the franchise may extend well beyond the upcoming second season. Industry insider Daniel Richtman is reporting that Christensen is set for at least two more ‘Star Wars’ projects as Anakin, with the specific nature of those projects remaining unclear. There has been considerable chatter about a potential ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ Season 2, though the live-action ‘Star Wars’ slate beyond ‘Ahsoka’ Season 2 is still largely a mystery.

Christensen himself has done little to dampen speculation. Speaking at Fan Expo Boston, the actor revealed there are specific areas of the ‘Star Wars’ timeline he is eager to revisit, saying he would “love to get to do some more Clone Wars-era Anakin,” adding, “I think there are some fun stories there to tell. And if it meant I got to swing a lightsaber with Ewan McGregor again, that would be amazing.” Those comments, made in an interview with CBR, come alongside earlier fan-reported exchanges in which Christensen hinted that something was already in motion, telling a fan that “we got some stuff brewing” in relation to a potential reunion with McGregor.

The actor’s future in the franchise may extend far past the Rosario Dawson-led Disney+ series, with Christensen teasing that more might be in store for his legacy-defining role in the galaxy far, far away. He has been clear about wanting to keep exploring the character across both the Clone Wars and the Imperial eras, expressing interest in a live-action Clone Wars series as well as a Darth Vader-centric spinoff.

Production for ‘Ahsoka’ Season 2 began in the United Kingdom in April 2025 following a major panel at Star Wars Celebration in Tokyo, with the season currently slated for a 2026 release on Disney Plus. With ‘Ahsoka’ Season 2 expected to arrive in 2026 alongside ‘The Mandalorian and Grogu,’ it will stand as one of the final known pieces in the current Star Wars storytelling phase.

Whether the two rumored projects materialise as additional Disney Plus series, theatrical films, or something else entirely, the appetite for more Christensen in the galaxy is clearly there on both sides of the camera. For a performer who once stepped away from the spotlight entirely, the prospect of Anakin Skywalker headlining a broader multi-project arc feels like a story arc with a very satisfying second act still unfolding.

If Lucasfilm does greenlight more Christensen-led projects, which two would you most want to see happen first, a Clone Wars-era live-action series alongside Ewan McGregor, or a standalone Darth Vader story set during the reign of the Empire?
