Anthony Mackie Joins Sebastian Stan’s Post-Win Interviews for a Heartwarming ‘Captain America’ Reunion: “We’re Coming Back!”
Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan had a sweet Marvel reunion at this year’s Golden Globes. The two last worked together in ‘The Falcon and The Winter Soldier’ in 2021. With Marvel’s Phase 5 continuing in 2025, both characters are returning to the MCU—Sam Wilson will star in ‘Captain America: Brave New World,’ while Bucky Barnes will appear in the ‘Thunderbolts*’ movie. However, it’s still unclear when they’ll team up again on screen.
After Sebastian Stan won a Golden Globe for his role in ‘A Different Man’ (2024), he gave several backstage interviews. Anthony Mackie crashed some of them, reminding fans of their strong friendship, which started while working on Marvel films together. You can see some of their fun moments below!
During an interview with ‘Entertainment Tonight,’ Sebastian Stan started laughing while answering a question when Anthony Mackie crashed the segment. Mackie cheered, “Captain America and The Winter Soldier, we’re coming back!” as he congratulated Stan on his Golden Globe win.
Stan then took a moment to thank Mackie for being a big influence on him during their press tours.
I do have to thank Anthony because back in the day when we were starting these press tours they said, ‘This kid can’t talk, can’t smile, can’t say anything. We gotta put him with Anthony to get some life in him.’ Maybe I learned from you, actually, gotta keep smiling.
During his ‘Access Hollywood’ interview, Sebastian Stan was interrupted again by Anthony Mackie. Stan praised Mackie, saying, “I wouldn’t be here without Anthony,” and called him “one of my favorite people,” reflecting on their years of working together.
While presenting with Harrison Ford at the Golden Globes, Anthony Mackie joked, “We’re still friends with Sebastian Stan,” referring to a funny moment earlier when Stan told a reporter, “I don’t know who Anthony is,” when asked about ‘Thunderbolts*’ and ‘Captain America: Brave New World.’
It’s clear that Mackie and Stan have the MCU’s longest and most heartwarming bromance.
