Anthony Mackie Teases a “Super MCU” as Two Worlds Collide in ‘Avengers’ 5 & 6

‘Avengers: Doomsday’ and ‘Secret Wars’ are the most highly anticipated team-up films in the future of the MCU, promising to be as massive as their predecessors.
Before these major events, Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson is stepping into the spotlight as the new Captain America in ‘Captain America: Brave New World.’ Mackie, along with his co-star Danny Ramirez, who plays Joaquin Torres, recently sat down for an interview in London, where they discussed the upcoming Avengers films.
Mackie shared his enthusiasm about the future of the MCU: “I’m really excited about the idea of old meeting new. The OG, original cast members of the MCU, and all the new people coming together to form this massive conglomerate,” he said.
When Ramirez jokingly worried that Mackie might have revealed a spoiler, Mackie quickly clarified that he doesn’t actually know what would happen. However, he is looking forward to seeing how things unfold. He also reminded fans about Robert Downey Jr.’s recent statement: “RDJ stood on stage and said, ‘I’m coming back!’”
Mackie continued, “It’s just exciting, the idea of seeing the new people, and hopefully the two worlds coming together and creating a super MCU. It’s exciting. You see Deadpool and Wolverine, [and] it’s like, ‘Are they gonna be in it?’ You know what I mean? Like, you see these movies [and you think], ‘Who’s gonna be in it, who’s gonna do it.’ I’m excited about that.”
Sam Wilson has been recently teased by Nate Moore as the one to lead the ‘Avengers’ in the upcoming Multiversal flicks, so it’s no surprise that the actor is excited for these projects.
Fans won’t have to wait long to see Mackie’s Captain America in action. ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ is set to hit theaters on February 14, 2025. With so much anticipation surrounding the film and the future of the MCU, it’s shaping up to be an exciting time for Marvel fans.
