Anthony Ramos Teases His Exciting Role in ‘Ironheart’: “He is the coolest villain in Marvel history”
In December 2020, Marvel Studios announced the development of the Disney+ series ‘Ironheart.’ Now, three years after her initial appearance, the wait is nearly over for Riri, as her show is set to release in 2025.
‘Ironheart’ will follow Riri Williams as she returns home to Chicago, where she uncovers “dangerous threads that bring danger and adventure.” This aligns with earlier rumors suggesting that the show will blend classic “overcoming adversity” themes with elements of demons, chaotic magic, and a 17-year-old vendetta coming to light.
Anthony Ramos was confirmed to play Parker Robbins, aka The Hood, in the upcoming ‘Ironheart’ series. Robbins begins as a petty criminal in New York City who discovers a mystical hooded cloak and boots during a robbery. These items, originally belonging to a demon, grant him powers of levitation and invisibility. With these newfound abilities, Robbins adopts the alias “The Hood” and rises through the criminal underworld.
Ramos recently appeared on the Official Marvel Podcast, where he claimed that his character is the coolest villain in Marvel history:
He is amazing. He is incredible. He is the coolest villain in Marvel history. Iʼm excited for the Hood and Riri Williams face-off. Itʼs a really cool build up to that in the story and itʼs a really intense rivalry. […] Parker is a really complex guy, and we really worked hard to make him a dynamic character.
“Ironheart” is set to release on Disney+ in 2025, with a six-episode season. The first episode is tentatively scheduled for September 3, 2025, according to a filing with the United States Copyright Office.
The main cast includes Dominique Thorne reprising her role as Riri Williams, Alden Ehrenreich as Joe McGillicuddy, Lyric Ross as Natalie Washington, Matthew Elam as Xavier Washington, and Anji White as Ronnie Williams. Harper Anthony, Zoe Terakes, Regan Aliyah, Shakira Barrera, Rashida “Sheedz” Olayiwola, Sonia Denis, Paul Calderón, Cree Summer, and Sacha Baron Cohen are currently in undisclosed roles.
