Aquaman Star Jason Momoa Confirms The Sequel Wrapped Production
Aquaman star Jason Momoa confirmed on his Instagram account that Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, the sequel to the 2018 movie Aquaman, wrapped production.
Jason Momoa debuted as Arthur Curry, the Aquaman, in one short scene of Zack Snyder’s Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. In 2017, he had a bigger role in Justice League, and a year later in Aquaman, his first solo movie as the character. The fans also watched him in Zack Snyder’s Justice League, director cut of Justice League, earlier this year. Many fans agree that Momoa is a perfect choice for the role. And next year, he will return in the sequel Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.

Directed by James Wan, the first Aquaman movie was released in December 2018. The movie grossed $1.148 billion, which makes it the highest-grossing DC movie ever. With Momoa in a titular role, the movie also starred Amber Heard, Willem Dafoe, Patrick Wilson, Dolph Lundgren, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Nicole Kidman, and Temuera Morrison.
The sequel was officially announced in January 2019. James Wan revealed the official title last summer. Momoa, Heard, Wilson, Lundgren, Abdul-Mateen II, and Morrison will reprise their roles from the previous movie, while Vincent Regan, Jani Zhao, Indya Moore, and Pilou Asbæk joined the sequel. Rupert Gregson-Williams returns as the music composer.
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is set to be released on December 16, 2022. The same release date as Avatar 2 – bold!
