Ariana Greenblatt Will Reportedly Return as Young Ahsoka in Season 2!
Originally planned as a miniseries, Ahsoka evolved into discussions about a second season, depending on the success of the first. After the show’s full release in October 2023, Dave Filoni shifted his focus from his upcoming Star Wars crossover film to exploring a follow-up season for Ahsoka.
In January 2024, Lucasfilm confirmed that Filoni was officially working on Ahsoka Season 2, aligning with his new role as Lucasfilm’s chief creative officer, where he oversees future Star Wars projects.
With season 2 on the way, we recently reported that Rory McCann, best known for his portrayal of Sandor ‘The Hound’ Clegane in ‘Game of Thrones’ will be taking over the role of Balyan Skoll, following the passing of Ray Stevenson.
Now industry insider Daniel Richtman claims that Ariana Greenblatt will return to season 2 to reprise her role of Young Ahsoka. If this turns out to be true, this most likely means that we’re in for a round of flashbacks, and most likely means that we will see Hayden Christensen in the role of Anakin again.
It’s not yet known when the new season will start filming or who will direct it. Dave Filoni, who led season one, will return as showrunner.
In the ‘Ahsoka’ finale, Grand Admiral Thrawn’s ship, the Chimaera, is loaded with a mysterious cargo and departs for the main galaxy with the help of the Eye of Sion. Ezra Bridger constructs a new lightsaber using parts from his late master Kanan’s saber. Huyang reveals that Ahsoka stopped training Sabine in the past, fearing her potential after the death of Sabine’s family during the Mandalorian purge. However, Ahsoka now fully commits to Sabine’s training.
Ahsoka, Sabine, and Ezra face Thrawn’s forces, including night troopers resurrected by the Great Mothers’ dark magic. While Ahsoka duels Morgan Elsbeth, who has been empowered by the Great Mothers, Sabine and Ezra fight to reach the Chimaera. Sabine taps into the Force for the first time, saving herself and helping Ezra board the ship, but she stays behind to assist Ahsoka. Ahsoka kills Morgan, but Thrawn escapes with the Great Mothers to Dathomir, leaving Ahsoka, Sabine, and Huyang stranded in Peridea.
Ezra sneaks away from the Chimaera after it reaches the New Republic and reunites with Hera Syndulla. Meanwhile, Shin Hati aligns with bandits on Peridea, and Baylan Skoll discovers statues of the Mortis gods, suggesting a deeper purpose for his journey. Ahsoka, Sabine, and Huyang settle with the Noti, as Anakin Skywalker’s spirit watches over them.
