‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Reportedly Crosses $100 Million in Global Presales as Overseas Records Fall
‘Avengers: Doomsday’ has been rewriting the presale playbook for months. When premium-format tickets went on sale on July 20, the film pulled in $16.5 million on its very first day across roughly 1,000 domestic theaters, doubling what ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ earned on its own first day of presales.
The numbers kept climbing from there. Wider ticket sales opened around Disney’s D23 event, and the film became the first movie in history to cross $40 million in domestic presales a full 100 days before release, before Disney CFO Hugh Johnston confirmed it had passed $50 million.
Now the Marvel crossover appears to have hit another huge milestone. According to box office tracker Global Box Office, ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ has crossed $100 million in presales worldwide, following a record-setting start overseas that reportedly made it the fastest movie to reach $1 million in pre-release sales in both Brazil and the U.K.
The international numbers add a new dimension to the film’s momentum. Fan-site reports had previously suggested ‘Doomsday’ passed $1 million in U.K. presales within 24 hours, which would be the country’s highest first-day presale total in 5 years.
Other markets are showing similar enthusiasm. In Bulgaria, a local tracker reported that the film had matched ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ at the same stage while leaving ‘Dune: Part Three’ far behind.
AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY crossed the $100M mark in pre-sales at the global box office, we have learned. This comes after INSANE pre-sales start overseas, which set new records including the fastest movie to cross $1M in pre-release sales in Brazil and the U.K.! https://t.co/vVGj76nt6o

These figures haven’t been officially confirmed by Disney, so they should be treated as tracker estimates for now. Still, they paint a clear picture of the global appetite for Marvel’s next big team-up.
The film’s domestic run has been equally impressive. Global Box Office previously reported that ‘Doomsday’ crossed $55 million in domestic presales with 3 months still to go. Johnston revealed the $50 million milestone at the Goldman Sachs Communacopia + Technology Conference. More than 70% of those sales were for Infinity Vision, Disney’s new premium large-format label.
The pace has outstripped even Marvel’s recent record-breaker. TheWrap reported that after 2 days, ‘Doomsday’ was running about 65% ahead of ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’, which didn’t cross $40 million in presales until about 40 days before its release.
Global Box Office has projected a domestic opening of $260 million to $300 million. For comparison, ‘Avengers: Endgame’ opened with $357.1 million, while ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ debuted with $360 million.

Some fans are dreaming even bigger. Replies to the latest report predicted a $1 billion-plus global opening, though such projections remain speculation. It’s also worth noting the unusual timing. When ‘Endgame’ set the previous presale record in 2019, tickets had only been available for a few weeks, which makes direct comparisons difficult.
‘Doomsday’ arrives on December 18, the same day as Denis Villeneuve’s ‘Dune: Part Three’. The showdown, nicknamed “Dunesday,” could produce one of the biggest box office weekends ever.
Warner Bros. has locked up IMAX screens for ‘Dune’, which may limit the premium screens available to Marvel. Even so, ‘Doomsday’ has been building a commanding lead in raw presale volume.
The new promotional posters feature Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom looming in an eerie green-lit throne room, declaring that 12.18.26 is Doomsday. If the presale numbers are any indication, audiences around the world are ready.
Do you think ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ will break the all-time opening weekend record?
