‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Set Leak Offers First Glimpse of Windsor Location

Marvel Studios is gearing up to film scenes for Avengers: Doomsday at Windsor Great Park in the UK. The production will take place over four days, though Marvel has secured a six-month permit to build and dismantle a detailed movie set.
The set includes a 1960s-style structure dubbed the Luke Cage House, named after the Marvel hero, and features a spaceship, hinting at the film’s sci-fi elements.
The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead council approved the filming plans on May 7. The set will be constructed at Duke’s Lane Park, part of Windsor Great Park, managed by the Crown Estate.
Nick Day, representing the Crown Estate, called it potentially the UK’s largest film production this year. He said, “So that the borough could play a small role in helping to support this important creative industry.” Councillor Evan Davis also supported the project, noting, “It seems like a marvellous application in more ways than one.” Louise Reid, the council’s deputy head of planning, highlighted the economic boost, stating, “The film set is likely [to bring] economic benefits to the local economy through ancillary expenditure, utilisation of services and industries in the local area.”
Initially, concerns arose from groups like the Woodland Trust about potential harm to ancient trees and local wildlife. Marvel revised the plans to avoid protected areas, ensuring no damage to trees or habitats. The updated proposal gained unanimous council approval, with hopes it will position Windsor and Maidenhead as a growing hub for film production in the “west London cluster.”
Leaked images of the Luke Cage House set surfaced briefly on Reddit before being removed, only to reappear on X. These follow earlier leaks showing what fans believe to be the X-Mansion courtyard, X-Men statues, and parts of a Sentinel, fueling speculation about the film’s scope.
The production, handled by Marvel’s UK-based company For All Time (established in 2023), has sparked fan theories that Loki, tied to the phrase “For All Time,” will feature prominently.

Avengers: Doomsday boasts a star-studded cast, including Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, alongside Chris Hemsworth, Vanessa Kirby, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Letitia Wright, Paul Rudd, and others like Tom Hiddleston, Pedro Pascal, and Patrick Stewart. The story unites the Avengers, Wakandans, Fantastic Four, New Avengers, and X-Men to battle Doctor Doom. Set for release on December 18, 2026, it marks a key chapter in the MCU’s Phase Six, with Secret Wars following on December 17, 2027.
Filming Avengers: Doomsday at Windsor Great Park is a smart move, blending Marvel’s blockbuster ambition with economic benefits for the local area. The inclusion of a Luke Cage House and a spaceship suggests a bold, expansive story, and the massive cast promises an epic showdown.
However, the environmental concerns raised by groups like the Woodland Trust remind us that big productions need to prioritize sustainability. I’m excited to see how Doctor Doom and the X-Men fit into this, but I hope Marvel keeps the story tight and doesn’t overwhelm with too many characters.
