‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Ticket Sales Are About to Go Truly Global and Fans Cannot Wait
Marvel Studios has spent the better part of this year turning the countdown to ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ into an event unto itself, and the ticketing rollout has been no exception. The film already made headlines when premium format seats sold out in record time, and that momentum has only kept building through the summer.
‘Avengers: Doomsday’ reunites heroes from three separate cinematic universes under Joe and Anthony Russo, who are directing their first Marvel film since ‘Avengers: Endgame’. The movie opens in theaters worldwide on Friday, December 18, 2026, with Thursday preview screenings expected the night before. Premium format tickets through Disney’s new Infinity Vision certification have already been on sale since July 20, though standard 2D showtimes have not yet received an on-sale date.
Now, according to Global Box Office on X, tickets for all formats are set to go on sale next Friday, and crucially, they will open in multiple countries simultaneously rather than staggering by region as many blockbusters typically do. That claim lines up with recent reporting suggesting the global expansion is imminent. Industry scoopers have indicated that after the Infinity Vision tickets went on sale in the United States back in July, global ticket sales for the next Avengers movie are expected to begin this Friday, August 14, with several trusted outlets reporting the same timeline.
The demand so far has been staggering. ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ generated sixteen point five million dollars in advance ticket sales within the first day of availability, an especially impressive number considering those tickets were only available in premium formats across roughly one thousand domestic theaters. The Infinity Vision pre-sale shows reportedly sold out and surpassed the opening day collection of ‘Fantastic Four First Steps’ within just two hours.
Much of that excitement traces back to Robert Downey Jr’s transformation into Doctor Doom, a casting swerve that stunned fans when it was first revealed. Marvel confirmed the full cast lineup at San Diego Comic Con, with Downey joined by Chris Evans, Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, and more than a dozen other stars. Pascal offered one of the panel’s most memorable lines when asked about the relationship between his character and Downey’s villain, simply calling them “besties,” which drew laughter from a room unsure whether to take it seriously.
The Russo brothers have also spoken about how deeply Downey has thrown himself into reinventing the iconic Marvel villain. Joe Russo said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight that developing the character alongside Downey has been a very intense process, adding that the actor has been writing backstory and costume ideas of his own. That kind of dedication has clearly translated into audience anticipation, and with an ensemble that also includes Florence Pugh, Vanessa Kirby, Simu Liu, and Sebastian Stan, the scale of the project matches the hype surrounding it.
