‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Trailer Rumored to Drop July 25, With Online Release Just One Hour Behind Hall H
Marvel fans have been living on rumors for months now, ever since a string of teaser trailers dropped back in December and left everyone guessing about when the real thing would finally show up. Every possible marketing moment since then, from the Super Bowl to CinemaCon to SXSW London, has come and gone without the studio pulling the trigger on a full trailer, leaving the fandom in a strange holding pattern.
That holding pattern may finally be ending. Disney’s four short teasers back in December 2025 gave fans only a small glimpse of the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe crossover, and speculation about the next reveal has been constant ever since. With options like the Super Bowl, CinemaCon, CCXPMX, and SXSW London all having passed, San Diego Comic Con 2026 is now considered the last realistic venue left.
According to a report shared by the account Earth 616 and credited to insider @Nomoremutants22, the wait is about to pay off. The trailer is expected to premiere exclusively during Marvel Studios’ Hall H panel at San Diego Comic Con before becoming available on YouTube roughly one hour later, meaning the general public would finally get to see footage that CinemaCon audiences reportedly witnessed months earlier. The Wrap has reported that the studio’s panel is scheduled for July 25, which is why that date has become the one most fans and analysts are circling.
The physical evidence on the ground backs up the timing. Official ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ banners have already been spotted hanging on lampposts in the Gaslamp district next to the convention center, and Marvel Studios has confirmed it will hold its Hall H panel later this month even though it has not officially detailed what will be shown.
What makes the stakes so high is exactly what this trailer is expected to finally reveal. Doctor Doom has not properly appeared in live action outside of a brief, back turned cameo in ‘The Fantastic Four First Steps’, so this would be fans’ first real look at Robert Downey Jr. in the role. The CinemaCon footage reportedly already showed Doctor Doom, the X-Men, and Sentinel sequences that left that audience stunned, and attendees there also caught glimpses of Yelena Belova fighting a Mystique disguised as her, along with Shang-Chi facing off against Gambit and Nightcrawler squaring up with Mister Fantastic.
There is also the matter of the massive footage leak that hit the internet earlier this summer. Fans were unexpectedly treated to a sequence in June showing the Avengers and X-Men teaming up against Sentinels controlled by Doom, and given how widely that clip circulated, there is a real chance Marvel simply folds it into the official cut rather than fighting the leak. Rumors also suggest Hasbro will unveil a Tobey Maguire Spider-Man Marvel Legends figure at the same convention, which would all but confirm his presence in the film.
Marvel clearly sees this moment as its biggest marketing swing of the summer. The film itself is directed by the Russo brothers from a script by Michael Waldron and Stephen McFeely, with Downey leading an ensemble spanning the original Avengers, the Fox era X-Men, the Fantastic Four, and the Thunderbolts, and it is set to open in theaters on December 18. If the July 25 date holds, the countdown to Hall H is officially on.
