Ana de Armas has stayed relatively quiet on the big screen this year. After ‘Ballerina’ and Ron Howard’s ‘Eden’, the ‘No Time to Die’ and ‘Blade Runner 2049’ star hasn’t had a new release in 2026, which has left fans looking to her social media for updates.

Lately, she has given them more to look at. After a long stretch of silence online, she has been sharing more snapshots from her life, from a trip to Greece to glamorous Paris outings.

The latest image, shared by JumpTrailers on X, shows de Armas in a bright, wood-paneled gym, taking a mirror selfie surrounded by strength equipment and a massage table.

Her look was casual and sporty: a white cropped tank top, black leggings, white socks, and cream sneakers. With white earphones on, her hair pulled back, her phone in one hand and a drink bottle in the other, the photo has a relaxed, mid-workout feel.

The timing has made fans think of her upcoming project. De Armas is starring in ‘Sweat’, a psychological thriller in which she plays Emma Kent, an ambitious fitness influencer. That makes a gym mirror selfie feel very fitting. It’s exactly the kind of image Emma might post, which is why some fans have joked that the actress already seems to be in character.

The film follows Emma as she tries to match the success of her idol, social media star Kat Highbrook. After a meeting with Kat goes badly, Emma’s carefully polished image starts to fall apart.

Things get more dangerous when she’s pulled into an arrangement with Trent, an obsessive fan, forcing her to decide how far she’s willing to go for fame. It’s a story about online image and obsession, and it fits a time when influencer culture is everywhere.

‘Sweat’ is an English-language remake of Magnus von Horn’s 2020 Polish film of the same name. J Blakeson directs and produces through his company, Crimple Beck, alongside Guy Stodel of Rosto Inc. and Stuart Ford, chairman and CEO of AGC.

AGC Studios is financing and co-producing the project, with AGC International handling international distribution. Production began on March 30, 2026, with filming in Los Angeles and the UK, but no release date has been announced.

‘Sweat’ is only one of several projects on her schedule. She stars opposite Jennifer Connelly in the Apple TV+ drama ‘Safe Houses’, an 8-episode series from Gideon Raff based on Dan Fesperman’s novel, and she’s set to appear in David O. Russell’s Apple TV+ series ‘Bananas’ with Oscar Isaac.

She also has ‘Reenactment’ with Benicio Del Toro and Cameron Diaz, ‘Impunity’ with Sebastian Stan and ‘Palm Grove’ with Kate Hudson on the way. ‘Deeper’, her sci-fi horror project with Tom Cruise and director Doug Liman, has reportedly been put on hold.

The gym selfie also contrasts with her recent fashion moments. As a Louis Vuitton ambassador, de Armas recently shared photos from Paris, including a black sequin and lace dress and visits to the Palace of Versailles’ Hall of Mirrors and Orangerie.

Earlier this month, she posted a carousel of 11 photos and 2 videos that included an aerial view of Lefkada, Greece. Together, the posts show a mix of polished glamour and everyday moments, which fans clearly enjoy.

With so many projects in different stages, 2027 could be a big year for de Armas. For now, fans will keep following her occasional updates while they wait for her next big-screen role. If ‘Sweat’ captures the tension of the original Polish film, it could become one of her most talked-about performances.
