The Batman Part II is being developed right now. Even though the movie has been delayed for almost a year, we’re still getting regular updates about it.
Robert Pattinson will return as Bruce Wayne, Zoë Kravitz will be back as Selina Kyle (Catwoman), and Andy Serkis will reprise his role as Alfred Pennyworth, Bruce’s loyal butler.
Colin Farrell will return as the Penguin, rounding out the main cast. While most of the cast has been confirmed for some time, one character remains up in the air: Barry Keoghan’s Joker.
Keoghan recently spoke about his potential return during his appearance on Happy, Sad, Confused, and to sum it up, it’s still uncertain.
It’s a big one, but I am going to say that, if the opportunity came about, yes, I’d love to explore, and given the opportunity, really dive into it. But I have not been contacted, I’ve not heard anything.
Keoghan played an “Unseen Arkham Prisoner” in The Batman (2022), with director Matt Reeves later confirming that the character was the Joker. Warner Bros. released a deleted scene featuring Keoghan’s Joker and Robert Pattinson’s Batman on March 24, 2022, three weeks after the film’s release, and fans responded positively.
Recently, rumors circulated about a solo Joker show being developed as part of Matt Reeves’ Batman Epic Crime Saga, but these were quickly debunked by James Gunn.
Over a year ago, Collider reported that Keoghan would return as the Joker in the sequel, but the studio has yet to officially confirm it.
