Batgirl: Barbara Gordon Will Reportedly Get The Second Suit During The Movie

Batgirl is one of the upcoming DCEU movies, and it’s one more movie that divided DC fans. Leslie Grace, who plays the titular heroine recently shared the first look on the suit, and it received pretty mixed feedback. While some fans praised it (or were okay with it at least), others panned it. Fans who criticized the suit were mostly saying that the suit looks like a cosplay, while some were just angry with the course that DCEU is taking now.

Despite all the positive or negative feedback, it could’ve been seen that the revealed suit was handicraft, and it wouldn’t be a surprise if Barbara Gordon gets a new suit from Michael Keaton’s Bruce Wayne, who was confirmed to appear in the film. One more thing that helps this rumor is that most fans agree that the revealed suit looks nothing like the suit that was shown on the concept art of the movie on DC FanDome last October.

Still, regardless of what you thought about the suit, maybe you’d like to know that that recently revealed suit won’t be the only one that Barbara Gordon will wear during the movie. According to a Twitter account called Batgirl Film News, there will be a second suit in the movie, which is expected to be an improvement to the first one.

Directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah also shared their reaction to the negative feedback with the famous comic book image where Batman is slapping Robin. In this case, Robin is saying: “It [the suit] looks like a cosplay…” and Batman responds with the slap and “STFU and wait for the movie!”, which is saying that there’s a lot more to be revealed about the upcoming Batgirl movie. If we can guess, we bet the second suit will look more like the suit Batgirl wore in The New 52 comic books (image below), or maybe the Batgirl suit from Batman: Arkham Knight video game, which was also very similar to it.

Starring Leslie Grace, J. K. Simmons, Brendan Fraser, and Michael Keaton, the Batgirl movie is currently in production. It’s set to be released this year exclusively on HBOMax, with the exact release date still TBA.
