Baylan Skoll Reported to Return in ‘Ahsoka’ Season 2 Along with a New Mysterious Villain

A few months ago, Dave Filoni confirmed his plans for ‘Ahsoka’ season 2. Filoni, who wrote the series, discussed its future and the challenges posed by the passing of Ray Stevenson, who was intended to play a significant role.
In the final episode of the first season, Stevenson’s character, Baylan Skoll, never revealed his true plans. Instead, he was shown gazing at the statues of the Mortis Gods on Peridea, hinting at his future intentions. Filoni described Baylan Skoll as a man with dangerous ambition.
Ray Stevenson passed away on May 21, 2023, just four days before his 59th birthday. The cause of death remains undisclosed, but he was hospitalized while filming ‘Cassino in Ischia’ on the Italian island of Ischia. This raises the question of what will happen to his character, who was intended to play a major role in the franchise.
According to industry insider Daniel Richtman, Skoll will be recast for ‘Ahsoka’ season 2. Lucasfilm is reportedly searching for white males aged 50-60 for the role. The show will also introduce a new male villain, and Richtman mentioned that Mother/Abeloth will appear in the second season.
These aren’t the first rumors about characters returning for the second season. Reportedly, Hayden Christensen’s Anakin will reprise his role, though this has elicited mixed reactions from fans, as Anakin appeared to have completed his role and Ahsoka’s training in the first season.
