Earlier this week, it was revealed that Supernatural star Jensen Ackles will make a special guest appearance in the Season 2 finale of Big Sky, and that’s not all, he will also return as a series regular in the upcoming third season, which was also announced by ABC, TVLine has learned.
According to the official character description, Ackles plays Beau Arlen is “a confident and charming good ol’ boy from Texas who steps in as temporary sheriff (and Jenny Hoyt’s new boss) as a favor to his friend, Sheriff Tubb.”
Jensen Ackles is best known for the role of Dean Winchester he played in the Supernatural series for 15 seasons between 2005 and 2020. His next big role will be the role of Soldier Boy in the upcoming Season 3 of The Boys.
Ackles also voiced Jason Todd in the animated movie Batman: Under the Red Hood, and Batman in the two-part animated adaptation of Batman: The Long Halloween. Ackles recently also expressed interest in playing live-action Batman in the upcoming Gotham Knights.
Big Sky is a crime drama thriller series starring Katheryn Winnick as Jenny Hoyt and Kylie Bunbury as Cassie Dewell, two women who are trying to solve crimes and mysteries. The series is based on The Highway series of books by C. J. Box. ABC recently officially renewed the series for the third season.
The season 2 finale of Big Sky, in which Jensen Ackles will debut in the role of Beau Arlen, will air on ABC on May 19, 2022.
