Jensen Ross Ackles, best known for the role of Dean Winchester in Supernatural, is known as a huge fan of comic books and their adaptations, particularly DC‘s. He’s set to play Solider Boy next June in Amazon Prime Video’s adult superhero satire series The Boys, and he also provided the voice of the Red Hood in the animated movie Batman: Under the Red Hood, as well as the voice of Batman in the two-part animated adaptation of  Batman: The Long Halloween.

For years back, Ackles was one of the fans’ top picks to play Batman if the Caped Crusader ever joins the Arrowverse. Batman himself didn’t appear in the Arrowverse yet, but Bruce Wayne of Earth-Prime did appear, played by Warren Christie. As the new TV series, Gotham Knights, is in development at The CW, although it will be separated from the Arrowverse, the question about Batman possibly appearing in the series resurfaced again. And apparently, Ackles isn’t against playing the role.

“Batman. Let’s be clear about that. I have gotten to do the voice, why not get to play the Bat? Maybe someone at Gotham Knights can put in a good word for me if that role ever comes up.” — Jensen Ackles at Supernatural NJ Con 2022 (via Rhiannon Nymph)
