Black Adam Will Be PG-13 Movie, But With Very High Kill Count

Black Adam surely is one of the most anticipated DC movies. The first look video released last month on DC FanDome gave us the first glimpse of Kahndaq and Dwayne Johnson’s titular hero. Now, producer Hiram Garcia, Johnson’s long-term collaborator, is saying that although the movie will be PG-13, it’s gonna walk on the thin line between PG-13 and R.

Black Adam is edgy, right? That’s gonna be a PG-13 movie where it was very much like, say, The Dark Knight, where that pushed the edges of PG-13. I think we do that very much with Black Adam. We have a very high kill count in our movie.

After spending a few years in development hell and Johnson fighting for the role, Black Adam was announced in 2017. The movie will introduce the popular characters and apparently open a new chapter of DCEU. This certainly isn’t the only project where Johnson will play the role “he was born to play”, as many fans are saying. Shazam and Black Adam crossover is already being teased for Shazam 3, and the producer also teased a possible crossover with Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman.

Black Adam will be released on July 29, 2022.
