Bleach: Who Is the Female Quincy that Attacked Ichibei?

We know that the anime adaptation of the Quincy Blood War Saga has already provided us with many new details, some of which were wholly new, while others were tied in with the Can’t Fear Your Own World sequel light novel. In Too Early To Win, Too Late To Know, Episode 24, a flashback scene introduces us to a new historical character in the series, a female Quincy who served under Yhwach 1,000 years ago. In this article, we will tell you everything about her.

The female Quincy is a new character introduced in the anime’s flashback scene who served under Yhwach 1,000 years ago and was present when Yhwach and Ichibei negotiated in Silbern. Her name has not yet been revealed (although Kubo will probably reveal it when the official art is released), but it can be deduced that she was a high-ranking member of Yhwach’s army and that Yhwach trusted her, as she was present during an important meeting and was in the presence of both Hubert and Zeidritz, whom we know was important. Her signature weapon was a gun that fired Reishi bullets, but she was not even close to Ichibei’s power.

The rest of this article will be dedicated to the new female Quincy in Bleach, who has been introduced in the anime series. We will explain who she is, why we are even talking about her, and her overall contribution to the series’ lore. We will answer all the important questions about this newly-introduced Quincy, who seemingly played a relatively important role in the history of Yhwach’s empire 1,000 years ago. This article will contain many major spoilers, so be careful if you haven’t actually seen the Too Early To Win, Too Late To Know episode, as this article will contain information from there.

The new female Quincy has not been named yet, but she could have a bigger role in the flashback scenes

Too Early To Win, Too Late To Know was the 24th episode of the Quincy Blood War anime season, and like several episodes before, it showed us some additional content that was not seen in the original manga, as Tite Kubo had to rush the original manga, which resulted in a lot of content actually being left out of the manga; luckily, the anime adaptation allowed the mangaka to actually show us some of these scenes and, thus, to remedy the issues seen in the original. So, what are we talking about here?

The episode started with a flashback scene set 1,000 years ago that was all in black and white. It showed a younger Yhwach negotiating a non-aggression pact with Ichibei, who came to the Licht Reich to offer Yhwach the deal; the Shinigami would take care of the three major worlds, while Yhwach would retain complete control over his own domain, and no one would interfere with his plan to unify all the Quincy under his rule. Yhwach rejected the plan, calling it a deception, and he then proceeded to challenge Ichibei.

As the Monk told him that he knew nothing, he proceeded to use the Left Arm of the Soul King, which was in his possession at the time, which was interpreted as an attack. And while Ichibei came alone to the meeting, which made sense, Yhwach was accompanied by four Quincy, who stood next to him, completely silent. We can assume that all four of them were his loyal subordinates and that they were the highest-ranking members of his army at the time.

Two of them we can identify without a doubt – Hubert and Zeidritz – the third man was probably Argola (although the shot was not so good to fully confirm it), and there was a female Quincy whom we’d seen for the first time. She is the topic of this article.

Now, we don’t know anything about her yet save for what we can deduce based on what we know. As we’ve said, she was probably a high-ranking Quincy, as Hubert and Zeidritz were, and she was present during an important meeting; we doubt that Yhwach would’ve had someone who was unimportant there. As for her appearance, we know that she was slim and that she had long hair tied in a tail; her uniform was a bit different than that of her colleagues, but it seems that the uniform wasn’t standardized at the time.

As for her name, at this moment, we still don’t have it here, but knowing what has happened earlier in similar cases, we can assume that Kubo will reveal her name once the official artwork comes out; this has happened on more than one occasion so far, so we don’t see why it shouldn’t happen now. Her name will probably be German or Germanic, as the other names of the time also were, and we’ll update this article once it actually appears.

What else can we say about her? We can also assume that she was quite strong and very loyal to Yhwach. Namely, as soon as Ichibei proceeded to activate the Left Arm of the Soul King, she jumped out of line, took out her gun (yes, the Quincy had guns 1,000 years ago, which is a fun anachronism) and fired a barrage of Reishi bullets at Ichibei; of course, the Monk easily blocked them with Ichimonji, to her surprise, and fired them back at her, but she was protected by the sturdy Quincy who is most likely Argola.

And that is all we have on her now; if Kubo reveals more info, we will update the article with this new information for you.
