Now, as the movie is ongoing, the first on-set images surfaced, and they gave us a pretty good first look at how will Maridueña look in the suit.

The movie was originally set to be an exclusive for HBOMax, but it was later announced that the movie will have a theatrical release, with the release date set for August 18, 2023. Blue Beetle will be the first superhero movie ever with a Latino titular hero. The character was created in 1939, and DC Comics bought the rights for the character in 1983. DC Comics created Jaime Reyes, who became a third Blue Beetle. The upcoming movie will be the character’s first appearance on the big screen.
Directed by Angel Manuel Soto, the movie will also star Susan Sarandon as the original villain Victoria Kord. Blue Beetle is set to open in theaters on August 18, 2023.
