Boyd Holbrook Reportedly Lands a Major Role in ‘The Batman Part II’
Most of the plans for the DCEU movie series were scrapped, and the actors were let go. But there was one franchise that survived outside the DCEU umbrella: Matt Reeves’ Batman Universe. This project, separate from the DCEU, has several films in the works.
After ‘The Batman’ hit theaters, talks about ‘The Batman – Part II’ began. In December 2021, Robert Pattinson and Matt Reeves brainstormed ideas for future Batman films, considering introducing Robin and featuring villains like the Court of Owls. Then, in April 2022, Warner Bros. announced the next Batman film with Matt Reeves directing and Robert Pattinson returning as the lead.
After a period of silence, it was announced that the movie, originally set for release in October 2025, has been pushed back by a year, now aiming for an October 2, 2026 release. The reasons for the delay remain unclear, but it’s speculated that the strike may have played a part, with some reports suggesting James Gunn’s upcoming ‘Brave and the Bold’ Batman project may also be a factor.
Following the delay news, reports emerged that Boyd Holbrook has been cast as Harvey Dent, also known as Two-Face, a prominent antagonist in Batman’s Rogue Gallery. Two-Face has been portrayed by various actors in live-action adaptations, including Billy Dee Williams, Tommy Lee Jones, and Aaron Eckhart.
The majority of the cast for the sequel is still unknown, except for a few who were confirmed to return when the sequel was first announced.
Boyd Holbrook initially found success as a model, collaborating with big names like Dior, Gucci, and Calvin Klein. He also dabbled in photography and sculpting, showcasing his work in various exhibitions. Transitioning to acting, Holbrook trained at respected studios and appeared in music videos and films such as ‘Gone Girl’ and ‘Logan.’ Notably, he portrayed DEA agent Steve Murphy in ‘Narcos’ and has recently been cast in ‘The Sandman’ adaptation and ‘Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.’
