‘Breaking Bad’ has never really left the pop culture spotlight, even years removed from its network run. The series first premiered in 2008 and turned into a global phenomenon that fans are still celebrating nearly two decades later. That devotion tends to resurface every fall, when longtime viewers mark a very specific date on their calendars.

September 7 holds a special place in the show’s history, since it doubles as Walter White’s birthday and the day his journey into the drug trade technically begins. Fans have turned the date into an informal holiday for years, swapping memes and rewatching key episodes at home. This time, though, the celebration is stepping off the internet and into an actual movie theater.

According to a post from the account DiscussingFilm, the ‘Breaking Bad’ Season 4 finale is officially heading to select theaters on September 7. Collider reported that Alamo Drafthouse will celebrate the 18th Breaking Bad Day with interactive theatrical screenings of the season’s finale, “Face Off.” The one night only event comes from a partnership between Alamo Drafthouse and Sony Pictures Television, spanning 15 markets nationwide.

Guests attending will walk away with themed keepsakes including a Heisenberg hat, blue rock candy, a call bell, and a Gus Fring half face mask, while a live host dressed in a yellow hazmat suit guides the crowd and encourages everyone to ring their bells every time Hector Salamanca does on screen. A costume contest rounds out the night, with a prize reserved for the best Heisenberg or Los Pollos Hermanos look anyone can pull off in the concession line.

Alamo Drafthouse’s Chief Marketing Officer, Chaya Rosenthal, discussed the tribute in comments given to CBR, calling “Face Off” one of “television’s all time greatest episodes” and describing a night built around a live host, fun props, and pizza delivered straight to fans’ seats. She reportedly added just one request for the crowd, to please keep that pizza off the roof, a nod to one of Walter White’s more infamous outbursts.

“Face Off” originally aired on AMC in 2011 and, written by series creator Vince Gilligan, brings the long simmering feud between Walter White and drug kingpin Gus Fring to an explosive head with help from Gus’s longtime enemy Hector Salamanca. The hour is widely regarded as one of the show’s most acclaimed, anchored by performances from Bryan Cranston, Aaron Paul, and Giancarlo Esposito. It remains a favorite among fans who rank it among the finest single episodes in television history.

Admission requires only a ten dollar food and beverage voucher that stays fully redeemable and refundable at the venue. Screenings are set across 15 Alamo Drafthouse locations in cities including New York, Los Angeles, Austin, Chicago, and the San Francisco Bay Area, with reservations already open through the theater chain.

Would you show up ready to ring a bell every time Hector does, or are you more worried about keeping your goodie bag pizza safely off the rooftop?
