Brendan Fraser Will Play The Villian In The Batgirl Movie Starring Leslie Grace

Confirmed by Deadline, The Mummy star Brendan Fraser joined the DC movie Batgirl and will reportedly portray the villain Firefly. Leslie Grace is starring in a titular role and Bad Boys for Life directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah are directing the movie.

Batgirl will be officially set in the DCEU, which means that Leslie Grace will play the daughter of JK Simmons’ Commissioner Gordon, who will reportedly also reappear in the franchise after appearing in the 2017 movie Justice League and its director cut that was released earlier this year.

The movie is being made exclusively for HBOMax, which makes it the first major DC movie to debut exclusively on the streaming service.

Brendan Fraser will reportedly play Firefly, a supervillain, and a pyromaniac who debuted in comic books in 1952 and is a part of Batman’s central rogues gallery.

Batgirl is currently in pre-production. No official release date has been set, but it is expected that the movie will debut on HBOMax next year.
