Bruce Willis’ Daughter Shows Interest in Playing Poison Ivy in the DCU, and Fans Are Excited
With the release of ‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom,’ the DCEU was officially wrapped up. New DC Studios co-CEOs Peter Safran and James Gunn were left with the monumental task of creating an entirely new cinematic universe, now known as the “DCU.”
Over a year ago, a lineup of upcoming projects was announced. The first of these, ‘Creature Commandos,’ is set to debut in December this year, followed by ‘Superman,’ which is scheduled for release in 2025.
The major roles for ‘Peacemaker,’ ‘Creature Commandos,’ and ‘Superman’ have been cast, but we’re still awaiting news on who will play Batman and Wonder Woman in this new universe. Meanwhile, one actress has taken the initiative to pitch herself for the role of Poison Ivy in the DCU.
That actress is Rumer Glenn Willis, daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore. Like her parents, Rumer began acting at a young age. She recently posted a message on Instagram, hoping to catch the attention of either DCU or Marvel Studios for a superhero role.
Rumer Willis launched her acting career with a role in the 1995 film ‘Now and Then,’ appearing alongside her mother. Since then, she has featured in various films and TV shows, including ‘House Bunny’ (2008), ‘Sorority Row’ (2009), and ‘The Diary of a Teenage Girl’ (2015). She also had a recurring role on the TV series ‘Empire’ (2015-2016).
It’s unclear if her pitch for the role of Poison Ivy was made in earnest or if it was just a playful gesture, given the whimsical pose she struck with the plant.
While Poison Ivy has yet to appear in live-action within the DCEU, Lake Bell voices the character in the animated ‘Harley Quinn’ TV series.
Regardless of the intent behind Willis’ proposal, fans have responded positively.
