With ‘Street Fighter’ just 10 days away from theaters, the film’s press tour has reached its final stretch. The campaign kicked off with the global World Warrior Tour, beginning with a first preview on the Shinjuku Yunika Vision screens in Tokyo, and the cast has been making headlines ever since.

Few stars have embraced the spotlight quite like Callina Liang. The Canadian actress, born on May 14, 2000, first broke out in Steven Soderbergh’s ‘Presence’ before starring in the ‘Bad Genius’ remake, and she once described her ambitions in plain terms, saying “I want to ride a horse, shoot some guns and kick ass” in an interview with British Vogue.

Now she’s delivering one of her most dramatic looks yet. In new photos shared on October 6 for ‘Street Fighter’ press, Liang poses on a balcony in a striking red satin gown, set against elegant stone buildings and a bright blue sky.

The gown is all about drama and drape. Its rich red satin is gathered across the bodice, finished with a high scarf-style neckline and a daring keyhole cutout accented by a dangling beaded detail. Liang kept the rest of her styling sleek and polished. She wore her hair pulled back into a neat updo, letting the gown’s bold color and sculpted silhouette take center stage.

The balcony setting, with its wrought-iron railings and classic architecture, gives the images an old-world elegance. The red theme also echoes another recent press look, when she posed in a glossy red satin halter top with a matching scarf tied at the neck.

Liang’s fashion moments have helped keep her front and center as fans count down to release. She plays Chun-Li, a character whose kicks have been a problem for ‘Street Fighter’ opponents since 1991.

The film is clearly leaning into that legacy. A recent teaser recreated iconic moves from the game, including the Dragonlash Kick, Shoryuken, Yoga Mummy, 100 Lightning Kicks, Buffalo Headbutt, and 100 Hand Slaps.

Official promotional material has even crowned her “the strongest woman in the world.” That tagline nods directly to the character’s status as one of gaming’s most iconic fighters.

The film is set in 1993 and follows estranged fighters Ryu and Ken Masters, played by Andrew Koji and Noah Centineo, as Chun-Li recruits them for the next World Warrior Tournament. Behind the battle royale lies a deadly conspiracy that forces them to face each other and the demons of their past.

Kitao Sakurai directs from a screenplay he co-wrote with T.J. Fixman, based on a story by Dalan Musson and Gary Dauberman. The stacked cast also includes Jason Momoa as Blanka, Roman Reigns as Akuma, David Dastmalchian as M. Bison, Cody Rhodes as Guile, and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson as Balrog.

Fans first got a taste of the film when its trailer debuted at The Game Awards in December 2025. Not everyone was immediately convinced, with some fans online calling the cast unexpected, but Liang’s Chun-Li has drawn especially strong reactions since then.

‘Street Fighter’ arrives in theaters on October 16, including IMAX, 4DX and ScreenX screens. If Liang’s press tour wardrobe is any indication, she’s ready to make a big impression when the tournament finally begins.
