It’s a Good Thing Captain America Doesn’t Have a “No-Kill” Rule Because His MCU Numbers Are Eye-Watering
Comic book characters, even superheroes, generally have a tendency to cause a lot of damage during their fights. This is not, in the case of the superheroes, intentional, of course, but damage occurs and casualties also occur, whether they want it or not. On the other hand, sometimes, the casualties are intentional as superheroes have to kill their enemies in order to win.
Sometimes, though, superheroes have a “no-kill” rule, like Batman or Superman, but this is an exception, not a rule. Superheroes generally don’t shy away from killing their enemies, regardless of whether they are humans or some alien entities, monsters, etc.
In light of that, we are going to talk about the kill count of a very important comic book character, or, more specifically, about the kill count of his version from the MCU. The character in question is Captain America and you’ll be surprised by just how high the numbers are.
The source for the data we have for you is a list from IMDb, composed by user Creedswede, who made an effort to chronicle the kill count of all major and minor MCU characters, with several important notes. Based on the data he has presented, Captain America’s kill count is as follows:
- Captain America – 34
- The Avengers – 17
- Captain America: The Winter Soldier – 20
- Avengers: Age of Ultron – 40
- Captain America: Civil War – 7
- Avengers: Infinity War – 8
- Avengers: Endgame – 6
- Total kills: 132+
Additionally, he made appearances in The Dark World, Ant-Man, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Captain Marvel, and Deadpool & Wolverine, as well as Loki, but he had no kills in those projects, mostly because the appearances were either cameos or archive footage shots of him.
As you can see, based on the information presented, Captain America has killed at least 132 enemies in the MCU, which is more than most supervillains from the MCU and a lot more than the other superheroes. Sure, he’s not even close to Iron Man’s 1100+ kill count, but 132+ victims is definitely a big number.
As for the future, Captain America is heavily rumored to be back for at least Secret Wars, possibly even more, either as the original Captain America or as an alternative version of himself called Nomad, but that is something that has not been confirmed yet. But, if that does, indeed, happen as the rumors claim, these numbers will definitely change and the kill count will probably be bigger than it is now.
These numbers have been updated as of Deadpool & Wolverine, where Captain America does not appear (although Chris Evans does come back as Johnny Storm in that movie), so we can assume that they are accurate.
