On September 29, Zeta-Jones attended a press event in Spain’s Basque Country and stepped out in a black mini dress that quickly got attention; a report described a look with billowing, cape-like sleeves and a plunging neckline, paired with sheer black tights and pointed black stilettos. Her long brunette hair fell in tight waves, and she kept her signature vampy makeup.
Yahoo’s account of the look added that the sleeves created a cocoon effect as she walked through Museo Vasco, with a tulip-shaped overlay giving the dress a bubble-like shape whenever she raised her arms. Underneath, a tiny black silk skirt contrasted with the voluminous top and left her legs on show. It was a monochrome outfit with plenty of drama.
The appearance came just days after she celebrated her 57th birthday on September 25 with her husband, Michael Douglas. Reports noted the pair share the same birthday, which made the timing feel especially festive.
Her Spain look was a striking counterpoint to what she wore only days earlier. At the London premiere, Reality Tea reported that she wore a sheer icy blue Zuhair Murad couture gown covered in shimmering crystal embellishments, with split cape sleeves and a translucent floor-length skirt. She added metallic silver platform sandals and Tiffany & Co. jewelry, including Bird on a Rock earrings.
Going from a dazzling, beaded gown to a sleek black mini in less than a week shows how she uses fashion as part of the storytelling. The reason for all the travel is ‘Kill Jackie’, an 8-episode revenge thriller premiering on Friday, October 2. In the United States, it lands exclusively on AMC+, with new episodes airing weekly, while Prime Video is releasing it in the UK, Ireland, and several other markets. Zeta-Jones also serves as an executive producer.
She plays Jackie Price, a former international drug smuggler who has spent the past 20 years traveling the world, selling fine art, and staying anonymous. When a squad of assassins comes for her, she decides running is no longer an option and sets out to take down her attackers one by one. The show is based on Nick Harkaway’s novel ‘The Price You Pay’, published under the pen name Aidan Truhen.

Daniel Ings, Ron Perlman, Sidse Babett Knudsen, Óscar Jaenada, Bill Paterson, and Raff Law are among those joining her. The series comes from the creatives behind ‘Killing Eve’ and ‘Gangs of London’, and ComingSoon likened its trailer to something out of ‘John Wick’.
Zeta-Jones has been on a run of memorable black outfits for a while now. At Netflix’s ‘Wednesday’ FYC event in November 2025, she wore a black lace mini dress, and this latest look continues that tradition.
