Charlie Cox and Krysten Ritter Seen Filming ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Season 2, Another Fan-Favorite Returns
Krysten Ritter is back as Jessica Jones, thrilling Marvel fans with her return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). New set photos from JustJared capture Ritter alongside Charlie Cox, who plays Daredevil, walking together on a New York City set for Daredevil: Born Again Season 2.
The images also show Michael Gandolfini, who plays Daniel Blake, a character expected to have a bigger role in the upcoming season. Filming began on February 28, 2025, and is set to wrap in July, with the season premiering on Disney+ in March 2026.

Ritter last portrayed Jessica Jones in 2019, when her Netflix series ended after three seasons. Her gritty, complex hero was a standout in the Defenders Saga, alongside Cox’s Daredevil and Jon Bernthal’s Punisher, both of whom have also returned to the MCU. Ritter confirmed her comeback at Disney’s Upfront 2025 event, sparking excitement among fans eager to see her team up with Daredevil again.
While the plot remains under wraps, Season 2 will follow Daredevil as he evades Kingpin, played by Vincent D’Onofrio, who enforces strict anti-hero laws and martial law in the city.
The season, part of the MCU’s Phase Six, will consist of eight episodes, down from an initial plan for a single 18-episode season that was split into two. Kevin Feige, Marvel Studios president, confirmed the two-season approach in August 2024. The production team includes returning showrunner Dario Scardapane and directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead, who are helming the first two episodes.
New directors Solvan Naim, Iain B. MacDonald, and Angela Barnes, who also worked on Ironheart, have joined the project. Executive producers include Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, Sana Amanat, Scardapane, Benson, and Moorhead. Cinematographers Hillary Fyfe Spera and Jeffrey Waldron are also on board, with filming under the working title Out the Kitchen 2.
Filming has taken place across New York, with scenes shot in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, at Josie’s Bar, where Cox was spotted in Daredevil’s black suit, and in Chelsea with actor Wilson Bethel. Scardapane noted that production is running smoothly compared to the first season. With Ritter, Cox, and a growing cast, Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 promises intense action and a deeper dive into the MCU’s street-level heroes.
Seeing Krysten Ritter back as Jessica Jones is a huge win for fans, and her chemistry with Charlie Cox’s Daredevil could make Season 2 a standout. The gritty, street-level vibe of the Defenders Saga feels like a perfect fit for the MCU’s Phase Six, especially with Kingpin’s return.
I’m intrigued by Michael Gandolfini’s expanding role, but I hope the shorter eight-episode season keeps the story tight and focused. What do you think about Jessica Jones returning in Daredevil: Born Again? Are you excited for this team-up? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
