It’s day one of filming the third installment of James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy. In a special video message posted on the TeamCoco Twitter account, Star-Lord actor Chris Pratt confirmed that the production kicked off.

Guardians of the Galaxy were mostly the unknown team of misfits when their first movie was released back in 2014 as part of the MCU, followed by the direct sequel – Vol. 2 – in 2017. A year later, they joined the Avengers in a battle against Thanos in the biggest crossover Avengers: Infinity War, and the only members who survived the so-called Blip (we prefer to call it The Snap) were Bradley Cooper’s Rocket the Raccoon and Karen Gillian’s Nebula. In Avengers: Endgame the whole team was brought back, even Gamora who was killed by Thanos prior to the Snap.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will show how the team is dealing with the post-Endgame era. It is confirmed that Adam Warlock, portrayed by Will Poulter, will make his MCU debut. Also, before Vol. 3, we’ll see the team again in Thor: Love and Thunder, and Guardians of the Galaxy: Holiday Special event, which will debut on Disney+ during the Holiday season next year.

Written and directed by James Gunn, Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3 stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki and Will Poulter.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is set to be released on May 5, 2023.
