With the release of ‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom,’ the DCEU era came to a close, making way for Gunn’s and Safran’s DCU. It’s been known for years that the DCU would mirror the MCU, with multiple phases or “chapters.”

The first chapter, ‘Gods & Monsters,’ was announced, with ‘Creature Commandos’ being its inaugural project. However, ‘Superman: Legacy’ is set to unofficially kickstart the new DCU. Notably, ‘Peacemaker’ Season 2 will transition from DCEU to the new DCU, with Gunn ensuring it fits seamlessly into the canon.

Gunn recently confirmed that ‘Peacemaker’ Season 2 and ‘Waller’ will be filmed simultaneously. According to Pwinsider, John Cena will be occupied from June to November 2024 with shooting the second season. Cena will be filming in the Atlanta area during this time, with production expected to wrap up around Thanksgiving.

‘Peacemaker’ Season 2 was announced to be in development in February 2022. The show has been in pre-production for a while, maintaining a consistent cast. John Cena stars as Peacemaker, a government agent devoted to peace at any cost. Steve Agee portrays John Economos, the warden at Belle Reve Penitentiary. Danielle Brooks plays Leota Adebayo, a member of the Suicide Squad. Jennifer Holland depicts Emilia Harcourt, an A.R.G.U.S. agent closely associated with the Squad. Freddie Stroma takes on the role of Vigilante, a character inclined towards lethal justice.

The show’s release date remains uncertain. Have anything to add? Feel free to share in the comments section below!
