‘Daredevil: Born Again’ – Rumored Season 2 Casting Sparks Elektra Recast Theories!
The MCU is gearing up for the release of one of its most highly anticipated shows, ‘Daredevil: Born Again,’ set to premiere on March 4, 2025. The show will feature Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock. Vincent D’Onofrio is back as Wilson Fisk, a crime boss running for mayor, and Jon Bernthal returns as the Punisher, a dangerous vigilante.
Other important characters are Murdock’s love interest Heather Glenn played by Margarita Levieva, his friend Karen Page, played by Deborah Ann Woll and his law partner Foggy Nelson, played by Elden Henson along with some new characters in the series.
Considering that the show will bring back several notable characters from Netflix’s show, fans have been wondering for a while now whether Elektra could appear in the show as well.
Elektra is presumed to be dead after the destruction of Midland Circle in the original Netflix show, however considering her body has never been found and that the character has a penchant for returning to life, we really can’t rule out this appearance. Élodie Yung recently addressed her possible return to the role by saying that she would love to return and that many fans keep asking her. The actress said that Elektra was incredibly fun to play.
Now we know that ‘Born Again’ has been renewed for a second season ahead of the first season’s release, and Daniel Richtman, a notable industry insider recently published a casting rumor that seems to indicate Elektra will appear in the second season as a recurring role.
Richtman reported that Season 2 is looking to cast a recurring female character in her 40s of Greek descent, with a contract lasting one year.
Keep in mind that this is just a rumor at this point as it wasn’t confirmed by the official sources. The timing of the leak seems right, as Cox recently revealed that the second season of the show will start filming by March.
