Daredevil is a superhero appearing in comic books published by Marvel Comics, created by Stan Lee and Bill Everett. Daredevil got his powers when he was blinded by a radioactive substance that fell from a truck. His powers include radar vision reminiscent of a bat’s echolocation abilities. Daredevil’s real name is Matt Murdock and he decided to become a lawyer after growing up in an impoverished, crime-ridden neighborhood of Hell’s Kitchen in New York City. Since his first appearance in Daredevil #1 (1964), Daredevil has been featured in numerous movies, series, and other media. Most notably the character received its own live-action movie in 2003 starring Ben Affleck, and its own TV series in 2015 created by Drew Goddard for Netflix.
