“‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Leaked Footage Hints at an Iconic Black Suit for the MCU”
This year’s D23 was packed with announcements, including a major highlight: the teaser trailer for ‘Daredevil: Born Again.’ The trailer revealed intriguing plot points and characters for the upcoming season.
Notably, it confirmed that Muse will be one of the villains, White Tiger will make an appearance, and Bullseye will start the season in jail, validating earlier set leak rumors. It also suggests that while Matt Murdock and Kingpin may have an initial understanding, it is likely to unravel.
Set footage has confirmed that Daredevil will have a new suit in the upcoming show, and recent leaks suggest he might also add a black suit to his wardrobe.
Daredevil is most commonly associated with his red costume, but he has worn three different black suits in the comics. His first black suit was a makeshift one, not really a superhero costume. During the ‘Shadowland’ crossover (2010), after taking control of the Hand and becoming corrupted by the Beast, Daredevil adopted a full black costume with a red logo and eyes. This new look marked his extreme crime-fighting approach and transformation of Hell’s Kitchen into a mystical prison.
Once the Beast was purged from his soul, Daredevil discarded the dark costume and returned to his original red attire after a period of self-discovery. His third black suit combined elements of the Shadowland suit with his traditional costume, featuring red boots, gloves, escrima sticks, and a logo. For years, this black suit was his standard look until he reverted to his classic red costume in 2018.
In the MCU so far, Daredevil has appeared in his makeshift suit, various versions of his red suit, and the golden-red suit in ‘She-Hulk.’ Fans are excited to see him don a proper black suit in the upcoming show.
The series is set to premiere on Disney+ in March 2025, with 18 episodes divided into two halves of nine episodes each. It will be part of Phase Five of the MCU.
