The first bound volume was published by Kōdansha on July 17, 2013. A spin-off series titled DAYS Gaiden, drawn by Saori Otowa, has been published since October 2016 on the Magazine Pocket app.
The anime adaptation was announced in August 2015. The series was produced at MAPPA studio by Kōnosuke Uda, with compositions by Yoshihiro Ike. It was broadcast from July 2, 2016 on MBS in Japan. When he is bullied after visiting Sayuri at her work, Tsukushi is saved by Jin Kazama, who scares off the bullies by attacking them with nunchucks, and declares himself a “lost wanderer in the city”.
Jin asks Tsukushi if he likes soccer and invites him to accompany him to a soccer game that same night because his team is missing a player.
