‘Diablo 4’ Teases 2026 Expansion and New Class: Hell Just Got Hotter

Blizzard Entertainment has shared a new roadmap for Diablo 4, and it looks like big things are coming in the next couple of years. According to the update, players can expect a new expansion in 2026—and possibly a brand-new class to go with it.

The roadmap was posted on Xbox Wire and shows what’s planned for 2025 and beyond. Some of the permanent updates in 2025 include new lair bosses, more Nightmare Dungeon activities, and even keyboard and mouse support for consoles. Seasonal content is also on the way, bringing fresh quests and new pets to collect.

To celebrate Diablo 4‘s second anniversary in June, Blizzard is planning two special collaborations with other franchises. We don’t know much about them yet, but Blizzard says the crossovers will match the dark and gritty style of the Diablo world.

Looking further ahead, the section of the roadmap for 2026 confirms a new expansion. Although the full text is a bit hard to read—part of it is covered by flames—some fans believe it says “New Class.” If that’s true, it wouldn’t be a big surprise. The 2024 expansion, Vessel of Hatred, added the Spiritborn class, so it makes sense that another class could be coming in the next one.

Many fans are still hoping for the return of the Paladin, a beloved class from earlier games. Whether Blizzard brings back an old favorite or introduces something completely new, we’ll have to wait and see.

Originally, Blizzard planned to release another expansion later in 2024. However, franchise lead Rod Fergusson said it was delayed as the team focused on adjusting the live service model based on player feedback.
